What is Lemonade Day and how does it work?
Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand.
When a child registers for Lemonade Day, they then sign up to attend 2 Mentor Sessions in their designated town. At the mentor sessions participants receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.
Then on JUNE 22, 2019 all the Lemonade Day kids will set up Lemonade Stands in their towns and try their hand at running their own business.
Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.
