Job Purpose:
The Operator Trainee position is responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of the facility. The Operator Trainee will be in constant contact with the designated trainer (SSW-short service worker program) and therefore, must demonstrate excellent communications skills and a high level of attention to detail. The Operator Trainee must be personally motivated in learning the basic plant processes. As this is a safety-sensitive role and due to the nature of the working conditions, the Operator Trainee is required to be mentally and physically fit to in order to successfully perform the tasks and responsibilities of this role.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
•Plant safety (i.e. following SOP’s and safe work procedures, strong participation in the facility SSW program in relation to daily operations/duties
•Attending daily safety/tailgate meeting and monthly safety meetings
•Participating in company KPI targets for HIDs, Incident reporting and JTOs
•Conducting daily, weekly and monthly plant checks
•Performing general cleaning duties throughout the day

Qualifications & Competencies:
The successful candidate will have:
•A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
•A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
•A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a profound ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
•Proven ability to work well under a frequent amount of supervision
•Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
