Basic Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in human services or related field
• Minimum of 1 year case management and mentoring experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience supporting individuals who have addictions and have experience trauma
• Minimum of 1 year supporting individuals who have Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and related issues
• Must have extensive knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions and history

• Current Mental Health First Training
• Current ASIST Training
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
• Up-to-date Driver’s Abstract
• Automobile insurance, minimum $2,000,000 liability
• Criminal Record Check
• Child Intervention Record Check

Job Description
• Provide mentoring around life and social skill development.
• Provide community presentations and training
• Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with high-risk individuals and their families and build strong working relationships
• Help facilitate the individual's relationships within the community.
• Ability to meet with individuals and discuss extremely sensitive and confidential issues
• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with support networks and other agencies and organizations
• Work in a direct, honest and nonjudgmental manner
• Strong organizational and time management skills necessary for working independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and web-based data bases
• Assist clients in setting goals based on their individual needs assessments, and in identifying steps to achieve their goals; monitor progress
• Assist in crisis intervention
• Advocate for clients to obtain the necessary supports for an improved quality of life
• Encourage local services to work collaboratively to meet client needs
• Coordinate scheduling and attend case consultations and appointments with community providers with whom client is involved
• Work with a strength based, relational, harm reduction approach
• Administer assessments and screens according to program guidelines
• Document all activities accurately and in a timely manner
• Manage caseload of 10-15 files

Preference will be given to individuals who currently live in Hinton.
