ANTIQUE Webley WG Army .455/.476 Revolver with Ammo (Palindrome serial number)
$3995This is an antique Webley WG Army Revolver with ammo, made by P. Webley & Sons in the mid 1890s and chambered in .455 Webley. These revolvers were very popular among sportsmen and high ranking soldiers around the turn of the 20th century up through WW1 as reliable, accurate, and elegant handguns. With a 7" barrel the WG Army has reliable accuracy and a powerful shot. I can include a box of 50 factory new Fiocchi Heritage .455 Webley rounds with purchase of the revolver if you have a PAL. If you don't want these rounds, take $75 off asking price. As a pre-1898 antique, this can be owned and used without any registration or headaches.
The condition is overall fair. Visually this revolver has a nice frame with some finish still remaining and no evidence of rust or pitting on its surface. The original square bottom hardwood grips are checkered and show some dings and chips as testament to their time spent on this planet over the past 130 years. Serials match 6226, which is a fun palindrome well in the first half of those considered antique in Canada. It reads "Army & Navy CSL" on the barrel, with serial on the right side. On the left are stamped the calibers ".455/.476" Webley and Eley, and the W&S winged bullet logo.
Condition is fair for its age. The action functions very nicely in single action, however the trigger return spring is a bit weak so double action operation may not pull back the hammer unless you ensure the trigger is reset forward. The cylinder hand is worn so it can back rotate at half cock but when cocked or fired the cylinder indexes and locks up securely for reliable firing. The bore retains rifling though with even freckling.
Comes with box of Fiocchi .455 Webley ammo if you have a PAL. Can sell more if wanted, or take it out of the deal if you don't want it.
