1886 Portugese Steyr Kropatchek Rifle

Howdy Townpost. I've got an interesting black powder repeater for you here. These were among some of the last military black powder cartridge rifles made, as smokeless powder would become the norm after 1886 with the French's adoption of the the Lebel 1886 and it's "poudre B" smokeless propellant. These were later in used with smokeless ammunition with reduced loads similarly to what was done with the Swiss Vetterli rifles by the Swiss. It's chambered in the 8×60mmR Kropatschek cartridge.

The overall condition of the rifle is good to very good as the rifle has been nicely restored. When I received this rifle is was a little rusty and the stock was cracked and soaked with old oxidized oil. Since then, it has been fully restored with the crack being properly repaired with modern adhesives and the stock being nicely refinished with a dark walnut color to closely match the original color. The bore is in good shape and is quite shootable. A little dark but sharp. Some pitting remains on the outside of the barrel and the one band. The bolt is mismatched which is pretty common for these rifles. The barrel matches the receiver.

Message me with any questions or concerns, it's no bother really.

The rifle is located in Calgary AB for pickup or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime.

PAL will be verified as per C-18.
