*Price Reduced* Smith Wesson Model 3 American Antique -No Pal Needed

Please read pictures for all detailed information. The revolver you inquired about in your recent letter is a Model 3 American. This model was the first of Smith & Wesson's .44 caliber revolvers. It was introduced in the summer of 1870 and manufactured until 1874 with a total production of 32,800 revolvers. In general, the collector recognizes two major model variations during the four year production span of the Model 3 American. These variations are called the First and Second Models. The Second Model variation was manufactured in December 1871 at approximately serial number 6800 and continued in production until 1874. The basic difference between the First and Second Model is the barrel catch and hammer which interlocks when the hammer is in the rest position, and a frame which incorporate a boss to accommodate a larger trigger pin. The Model 3 American was manufactured in two calibers; the standard caliber of .44 Smith & Wesson American and the Henry Rim Fire. The guns could be ordered in blue or nickel. 8" barrel length. Smith & Wesson Model 3 American Second Model, caliber .44 S&W American, in company records which indicate that your handgun, with serial number 21843, was sold in June 27, 1873 and shipped to M. W. Robinson, New York City, NY., Smith & Wesson's largest distributor. Gastinne Renette employed some of the best gunsmiths in France and they could do all types of work including re-chambering to :44 S&W Russian caliber. I Can Ship anywhere in Canada.
