The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light. This is an original U.S. military M1916 hip holster designed for the Colt M1911 or M1911A1 .45 ACP pistol, widely issued during World War II (and earlier in WWI). This is a brand new Remington 700 Long Range that has shot less than 20 rounds. I only went to the range once when I bought it to sight it and never used it again. The rifle is very accurate but a bit heavy for me, I am not that young anymore! I prefer a lighter rifle even if that means giving up on accuracy. This rifle also comes with a Leupold Vari-X III6.5x20x50 scope. I also put a Limb saver recoil pad to it.
