Up for sale is a Winchester model 70 called " The Westerner " . The rifle  is actually engraved from the factory "The Westerner".   I have done research and can't seem to find anything out about what why these were made or what it meant. They seem to be extremely hard to come by.  This rifle is in excellent shape and has seen hardly any use. It's in easy to get ammo .243. It has a very smooth action and has a blind 5 round mag that opens from the bottom to empty out.  The wood is beautiful  with some marks. I have taken some pictures to show it.  It comes with the rings , bases and a Simmons 3x9x40  scope mounted and sighted but should be fined tuned to your preference.  From my research the " Westerner " rifles are fitted with a 2 inch longer barrel, scroll work done on the receiver, checkering done in the stock . Not pressed checkering , actual checkering. A different lighter colored wood, then the usual dark wood stock of Winchester. I do not want to get messages that this is a low end $ 700 Winchester as that is not the case. You will be ignored with EXTREME PREJUDICE! I'm allergic to STUPID, and I break out in SARCASM. So you have been warned. The asking price is $1500 + shipping obo. The pictures don't do this rifle justice as she really I a beautiful rifle.  You can try trades. Looking for a pump or semi action shotgun for hunting  that does 3inch plus shells.  Also looking for a Remington model 700 in .270 or 30.06, with a detachable magazine system. I have 150 rounds of super rare 25-20 ammunition that I formed from 32-20 cases. They are loaded with 60 grain Hornady soft points, 11.0 grains of Accurate 1680 powder and CCI-400 primers which yields a velocity of 1621 FPS. Reason I’m selling, my Winchester model 92 likes a slightly larger diameter bullet. This load and bullet did shoot really well out of my old Marlin lever gun. I have a new, unfired RCMP Centennial rifle, in the box. Winchester Model 1894 Ref #1041. Early five digit serial number. Dated 1897. This Winchester is a lever action, sporting rifle, octagon barrel, full mag. Dated 1897 Stock is excellent, appears original. A few marks. Original metal recoil pad fits well. Barrel is 26” long with sights intact. The read sights are intact and appear original. Bore is very nice, no obvious corrosion, does not appear to have ever seen black powder. Rifling throughout. Bluing is 40-50%. There are bumps and scratches on metal expected on a plus 125-year-old firearm. The drivers side receiver has a few light scratches and bangs. Screws have been used but are still usable. There is one on the loading port side that may have been a replacement. The lever functions well, safety checks out and the trigger pull, and drop are good. Firing pin is evident and protrudes when pushed on. Ejector is intact and tight, and magazine follower functions correctly.  Overall, I grade this firearm as good and should be fully functional. I don’t see many from this time frame with bores looking this good. I did not test with snap caps or fire. Only reasonable offers are considered. Low ball offers will not be responded to. Trades in person only. The firearms and accessories I sell may be new or used and are usually acquired through estate liquidations. *Sold* Parting with my Colt 1878 revolver. She's single and double action, chambered in .476 Eley which is interchangeable with .455 Webley. These revolvers were most commonly chambered in .44-40 Winchester and dubbed the "Frontier Model", with the .476 chambering being very scarce. They were introduced in 1878 as a larger frame, larger caliber twist on the new Colt 1877 Thunderer/Lightning model, filling a niche most similar to the 1873 Single Action Army, but this time in double action as well. Selling to clear up some moolah for car repairs. Pre-1898 Canada legal antique. This revolver was made in 1885. It has the desirable Pall Mall one line address on the barrel reading "COLT’S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. DEPOT 14. PALL MALL LONDON" with most words still visible. This address is a rarity and was only put on guns intended for the European markets. Serials match 15xxx, with the last 3 digits stamped on the cylinder. The loading gate is a replacement. This gorgeous revolver has an extremely nice black finish with shiny nickeled highlights on the hammer, trigger, and hammer screw. The visual condition speaks for itself. A stunning piece sure to catch eyes, and assurance that the metal will remain protected. The rifling is still strong and defined, showing some scattered frosting. The grips appear original, and are sturdy with minor holster wear on the high points from time on the hip. The action is great. The internals are shiny in factory condition. The cylinder locks up airtight at firing position. I have never seen an 1878 or 1877 with tighter lockup. In the unique fashion of the 1878 model design, this revolver has no cylinder stop allowing slight backrotation when you disengage the action, but it still generally cycles. The loading gate is a bit wobbly, contributing to backrotation.
