Vector Optics Paragon Series Prism scopes
The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light. All Paragon models also boast the best eye relief when ranked against competing micro prism sights. -------------------------------------------- Vector Optics Paragon x1 The design of he Paragon x1 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic. It is ideal for someone wanting a close quarters optic but not wanting to be at the mercy of batteries. In the cold Canadian climate there is some wisdom in avoiding something battery dependent in the outdoors. The one power paragon has a circle dot reticle which, according to gestalt psychology, draws the eye quickly to the center. It is a reticle type which is faster to acquire than a dot or a crosshair. The Paragon x1 comes with a low mount and a high mount to be optimized for a large variety of firearm types, from the traditional Mossberg shotgun to the 180C. Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338. Ideal For: Shotguns, PC9, SKS, FX9, Scorpion, Raven 9, Templar, wk180, ws-mcr, tavor -------------------------------------------- Vector Optics Paragon x3 The design of he Paragon x3 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic. The 3 power prism sight is ideal as a battlesight for modern sporting rifles as the 3 power gives a flexibility at close, medium and occasionally longer ranges quite comfortably. 3 power, in my opinion, is the maximum magnification your brain can resolve with 2 eyes open style shooting. 3 power is ideal for people expecting to engage targets at 300 meters or closer. The x3 Paragon is lightweight and small measuring 3" in length weighing only 225g. The reticle has a drop compensator for 223 balistics. Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338. Ideal For: FX9, Scorpion, Raven 9, Templar, wk180, ws-mcr, tavor, crypto -------------------------------------------- Specter Arms is a dealer for Vector Optics and the x1 Paragon is not the only thing in stock. Vector Optics Solar augmented reflex sights
Many survivialists, competition shooters and outdoorsmen fear it... a dead battery in their reflex sight. While some have opted to make compromises and surrender the speed of a reflex sight for the comfort of something less effective, Vector Optics is poised to change all of that will the introduction of the various Solar Augmented sights. They still require a battery but will draw power from ambient light to prolong that battery life. All versions sold by Specter Arms are multi reticle, with minimal weight or bulk while preserving the main reason to get a reflex sight; speed. All of these units can be mounted on a picatinny rail. _____________________ Vector Optics Scrapper (SM45) $80 (sale) This is a closed, tube style optic. It comes with 2 different mount heights, one for modern sporting rifle where the comb of the stock and the mounting plane are on the same level or a low profile mount for traditionally stocked firearms such as lever actions. Ideal For: Shotguns, SKS, FX9, Scorpion, Raven, Templar, wk180, ws-mcr, tavor, APC, Bren _____________________ Vector Optics Frenzy-X $250 This is an open micro reflex sight that is easily mountable to a pistol or a traditionally stocked firearm where the comb is lower than the mounting plane. Photo of British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard
$125.00
British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard
British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard This is a British M1853 Socket Bayonet for use with the Enfield, Snider, Martini rifles. This 1853 pattern was the standard bayonet carried by nearly every British infantryman of the mid-19th century and widely used during the Crimean War, Indian Mutiny, and in numerous colonial campaigns. Production of the1853 pattern socket bayonet continued throughout the life of the Enfield Muzzleloader and the Snider rifle and was finally terminated in 1875. The blade has a slight downward curve to allow easier reloading while fixed to the muzzle-loading Enfield rifle. Measuring 44 cm (17 inches), it features a triangular cross-section with fullers on all three sides, tapering to a narrow, down-turned point. The blade is in good solid condition but is badly tarnished. The scabbard is in fair condition. The bottom brass below the frog hook is pulled free from the leather scabbard. The brass tip on the scabbard wiggles a bit but is still solidly attached. The stitching on the scabbard in the last 3 ½” above the end cap is partially missing but the scabbard is solid and not separating. The scabbard is stamped W.D. (War Department) below the frog stud with the Broad Arrow symbol above the initials. This stamping is difficult to see. The top of the blade at the base is stamped with an E over a crown over the number 25 Overall Length – with blade in scabbard - 21 3/8” Length of Bayonet – 20 3/4” Length of Grip including the Guard – 3 5/8” Blade Length – 17 1/8” $125.00 Thanks, Phil

Photo of Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard
$500.00
Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard
Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard Savage and Lyman Montreal Sword This company name was used by the Montreal silversmiths Savage and Lyman between 1868-1878. The left side of the blade immediately in front of the guard Is marked Savage & Lyman Montreal Within the engraving on the left side is a Crown.  Believed to be indicative of Queen Victoria. The right side of the blade has a small brass insert which says PROOF.  Wilkinson Sword introduced these Proof Discs in 1844. In the engraving on the right side of the blade is the word ARTILLERY The guard is steel and has fish skin wire bound grips with most of the fish skin having been worn away.   Length of Sword – 40 1/2” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5 1/2” Blade Length – 34 1/2”   Savage & Lyman Montreal (or Savage & Lyman and Company) were manufacturers and suppliers of swords, known for military pattern swords like those for Canadian militia units (e.g., 1st Battalion Chasseurs Canadiens), marking them as producers/sellers, though like many firms, they likely had blades forged elsewhere (perhaps by specialists like J. Martin in Montreal) and then finished, hilted, proofed, and sold by Savage & Lyman in Montreal, a common practice for armsmakers then.  Key Points: Evidence of Manufacturing: Swords clearly marked "SAVAGE & LYMAN MONTREAL" exist in museum collections, showing they were a recognized name in arms. Role: They functioned as an arms dealer and supplier, customizing and selling weapons for Canadian military and militia. Production vs. Supply: While they might not have forged every single blade from raw steel in-house, they were responsible for the final product, including proofing and adding their own markings, as seen on a 1885 Chasseurs Canadiens sword. In short, they were a key player in the Montreal arms trade, making/selling quality military swords, even if blade forging was sometimes outsourced to other specialized smiths.    $500.00 Or Best Offer   Thanks,  Phil
