British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard and a frog This is a British M1853 Socket Bayonet for use with the Enfield, Snider, Martini rifles. This 1853 pattern was the standard bayonet carried by nearly every British infantryman of the mid-19th century and widely used during the Crimean War, Indian Mutiny, and in numerous colonial campaigns. Production of the1853 pattern socket bayonet continued throughout the life of the Enfield Muzzleloader and the Snider rifle and was finally terminated in 1875. The blade has a slight downward curve to allow easier reloading while fixed to the muzzle-loading Enfield rifle. Measuring 44 cm (17 inches), it features a triangular cross-section with fullers on all three sides, tapering to a narrow, down-turned point. Scabbard in good condition and includes a leather frog. The brass tip on the scabbard wiggles a bit but is still solidly attached. The scabbard is stamped W.D. (War Department) below the frog stud with the Broad Arrow symbol above the initials. I have a long range setup for sale that comes with everything you will need to get into the sport, or to upgrade your existing rig. Rifle is a Savage 110BA, chambered in .300WinMag. This gun is an absolute BEAST, well built, heavy as f*ck, and in like new condition. It is has a great selection of adjustable parts, from the trigger pull, cheek rest height, butt stock pad length and base on the grip for a custom tuned shooting experience. This kit includes the rifle, scope, bipod, a supreme quality 60" drag bag, and several more additions to help your shoot go smoothly. Specs are as follows: 26" fluted barrel, 1:10" RH twist rate, threaded barrel with factory installed muzzle brake, (1) 6 rd detachable box mag, 51" o/a length, about 16 lb dry weight (rifle alone), 18" Picatinny rail system, and Savage AccuTrigger with 1.5-6 lb adjustable pull. Scope is a Barska 6-24x50mm with a sun shade, illuminated reticle and measures at 21" long. It sure does look at home mounted on top of this gun! The case is a 60" drag bag from Voodoo Tactical with backpack straps, carrying handles, many outer and inner pockets, divider for carrying 2 rifles, and almost deserves its own ad.
