Howdy Townpost. I've a neat old single shot 12 gauge made by Savage. It has a nice and light tenite stock that was sanded at one point to give it a matte finish. The shotgun is very tight and not off the face at all. The gun is very light and handy sitting 5.73lbs. It has a 12 gauge 2 3/4in, 28in full choke barrel. The patent number is molded into the plastic stock interestingly enough. The black paint on the trigger guard is flaking of a little. The shotgun is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime. It's pretty short when broken down, and is light so it should be relatively inexpensive to ship. If you live in Alberta I do get around the province a fair bit throughout the year, so if I happen to be heading to your area maybe we can do a meet up along the way on my travels to save you the shipping costs. 12 ga. double barrel side by side shotgun. Made by G [George] Bate a famous English gunmaker from Birmingham England. double triggers. double exposed hammers. 2.5 inch chambers. all the metal parts of the firearm are covered with delicate intricate engraving. the barrels appear to be Damascus steel. There is no serial number from the manufacturer. There is a serial number sticker from the Canadian Firearms Registry on the side of the receiver from when the firearm was registered under the now defunct long gun registry. all old firearms records for this gunmaker were destroyed in the 1940's when the factory was bombed in WWII. The gun was made between the 1890's and the 1920's. G Bate Maker, changed its name to G Bate Ltd in the 1920's. in the 1990's the name was changed to Bate & Cross [Gunmaker] Ltd. it has been well cared for. there is no rust and no pitting. the wooden stock has some scratches and dents but is not cracked. it has not been fire for many decades.
