This is a 1940 Ishapore made No 1 MK111 ( not a MK111*) with mag cutoff and period correct RFI stamped bayonet. The hardware and wood set is good to excellent condition ( for an 84 year old rifle) and as far as I can tell, completely original from the factory. Bolt, receiver, Barrel, rear sight and nose cap are all matching numbers. The magazine isn't matching numbers but is RFI stamped. The bayonet is the short 12 inch "Indian Pattern" which I believe is a 1943 made bayonet. There are some visible repairs to the butt stock, maybe field repairs or post military use - I don't know. I can't make out the markings on the underside of the butt stock but it doesn't appear to be English or Latin script, possibly Punjabi, Bengali or Burmese. The barrel is probably nearing the end of it's life but I have taken this rifle to the range numerous times and it shoots fine with pretty good accuracy at 100 yards. I didn't really want to sell this one as it's a great historical piece, but I need to reduce the amount of Rifles and spare parts I have. Here's a pretty rare one for you. It's a Shiloh 1863 Sharps infantry rifle made in the early days when Shiloh was in Farmingdale NY. They don't make this model anymore. The fellow I bought it from purchased it in the late 70s, and said he never did anything more than hold it from time to time and oil it well. It is a .54 caliber with a 30" blued barrel and adjustable ladder sight marked up to 800 yds. The stock is a nice nice piece of walnut with 13 3/4" length of pull and a case coloured steel patchbox. The case colouring on the metal parts is amazing, with some really beautiful colours and patterns shining through. The rifle comes with an adjustable leather sling and some bullets with paper cartridges. Also included is an Eras Gone custom ringtail Sharps bullet mold. This mold was designed for the utmost accuracy with these rifles, and the bullets can be used with loose powder, or with cardboard tubes or traditional paper cartridges tied/glued to the bullet. I also have about 160 musket caps and Swiss 1.5fg powder I can include for local pick up. It is in pristine unfired condition. The only minor issue is a small dent in the forestock which I've included a picture of. I would like $3500 or best offer with local pick up or shipping on the buyer's dime.
