Howdy Townpost! I have a truly amazing one of a kind piece here for sale. I bought this for myself in the US over a year ago and I had it professionally restored and fully repaired. I am now looking to sell it. John Forbes, of Liverpool, was gunmaker to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. And according to my research made mostly dueling and target pistols, and some small pocket pistols for only 5 years. Those years being 1805-1810. He spelt his name with I or Iohn and later switched the spelling to a J or John based on public records and some of the other examples of his dueling pistols that have sold at auction. That makes this a very rare and finely made pistol. This pistol would have cost a small fortune at the time it was made. Oftentimes dueling pistols come in pairs but it was cheaper to buy just one if they were offered as a single, and should you encounter someone who has insulted your honor and you demand satisfaction from them, they can bring their own pistol to the duel. The engraving is extremely fine, intricate and skilled. It would have taken many dozens of hours to complete and it was all done by hand. The engraving features drums, banners and spears, floral patterns, sunbursts on the base plate and lock, and a pineapple in the front of the trigger guard, which symbolizes wealth and status. Because this gun is a percussion conversion of the original flintlock mechanism the percussion hammer is engraved in a different style by a different engraver in a more simple floral and fish mouth style of engraving with gold inlay. Every screw is engraved to look like a flower and the escutcheons are also each engraved like a wreath. Overall there is a lot of fine detail with some simpler and less detailed later additions on the percussion mechanism and one spot on the side plate. The gun features gold inlay on the hammer which largely worn away. There is silver inlay on the outside of the breach, and a sterling silver wreath styled band wrapped around the base of the grip and a sliver bead front sight. The ramrod tip (which is a replacement) is silver plated brass, so too are the front stock cap near the muzzle, the rod pipe, cross key, and escutcheon around it are too. The grip baseplate is silver plated steel. The workmanship of this pistol is certainly of a quality of gunmaker worthy enough of being the gun maker of the Prince of Wales. Howdy Townpost! I've got a nice little uncommon and good condition subcompact Remington for sale now! This started its life as a Remington Model 1865 New Model Police as a cap and ball percussion revolver in .36 caliber. Many of these were never percussion guns as they existed in a weird transition period. And Remington made some of them from the ground up as cartridge guns. This one most likely was in inventory as a percussion revolver and was turned into a .38 rimfire cartridge revolver based on the serial number, in my opinion. These are one of the more rare and lesser known Remington cap and ball guns that were made. Remington only made 18,000 between 1865 and 1873. So they are relatively uncommon and scarce gun today. This is actually my personal favorite model of Remington percussion revolver they're a very handy subcompact-sized gun by today's standards they're bigger and much more comfortable in the hand in the grip than the pocket models but nice and light unlike the full size military .44s and they point very naturally. This particular example is in very good condition the nickel is a very high percentage of coverage some of the original silver plate is still visible on the trigger guard and some of the low areas. The color case hardening is still very colorful and defined on the hammer (pictured). The grips have been refinished but they are the originals. The wood grain is very interesting and beautiful in my opinion. The bore is in excellent condition especially for a Civil War era black powder firearm. This was likely carried in a police officer's holster and not fired much. It was well taken care of and the clean and good condition bore and chambres are reflection of that. The the mechanical function of this firearm is excellent as well. When I got the firearm it was actually in amazing condition to begin with and the mechanical function was perfect. It locks up and times perfectly. The hammer and the trigger pull are very crisp, light and smooth. And didn't require any adjustment, Remington did the job and they did it right the first time. The entire revolver has been taken apart and given a gunsmith's cleaning and was reassembled and lightly oiled. I came across a nice little Hunter leather holster at a gun show and found that it fit this gun very well so it's included as a freebie with the gun (pictured). Howdy Townpost! I've gotten my hands on some stubby steelies! These are new production Yugoslavian military patterned magazines made in Croatia. These are well made and the milling was done well too. These are all properly pinned to 5 rounds. And are nice for hunting with a shorter mag or hauling it around with a shorter and lighter mag when compared to standard a 5/30 rounder. These magazines will also work with an AK magazine coupler (I have these for sale for $20). Which for an SKS-D some plastic on the coupler must be removed first. The M10X should work with a coupler without issues the same goes for the WK-181 and modded mags in the Type-81. These can be modified to fit into a Type-81. I also have modded mags for sale which are $55 each. I am the only seller who has these Croatian 5/10's in Canada. Even the crappy Gen.1 KCI 5/10's are out of stock practically everywhere in Canada. This is a limited run, so don't miss out. The mags are $40 each. The mags will come in a plastic bag in preserving oil that can be easily cleaned up with any degreaser or simply hot water and dish soap in your kitchen sink with a quick scrub and then dried. It's a good idea too to apply a light coat of gun oil. A single drop rubbed across the entire mag is enough. These mags will fit in the SKS-D, the M10X series, and they might require some hand fitting to work in the WK-181, since Kodiak designed those things with odd magwell dimensions with PMAGS in mind. In all likelihood though, they will work out of the box for you. The magazines are located in SW Calgary and can be picked up anytime. Howdy Townpost. I've a neat old single shot 12 gauge made by Savage. It has a nice and light tenite stock that was sanded at one point to give it a matte finish. The shotgun is very tight and not off the face at all. The gun is very light and handy sitting 5.73lbs. It has a 12 gauge 2 3/4in, 28in full choke barrel. The patent number is molded into the plastic stock interestingly enough. The black paint on the trigger guard is flaking of a little. It's pretty short when broken down, and is light so it should be relatively inexpensive to ship. Howdy Townpost! I've got an Italian jewel for you to take a look at here. This is an Italian Bodeo model 1889. These guns are among my favorite antique revolvers. They are a very simple rugged and easy to maintain and repair Military revolvers with one of the coolest safety/loading systems as part of its design. These revolvers are very well designed, and feature the safety, loading/unloading system called the "Abadie System". This system was designed in Portugal, but many European late 19th century designs incorporated it. This particular example is an 1897 production by Glisenti at Brescia. Glisenti made Bodeos from 1891 to 1906. This is considered a tipo (type) A or an enlisted model. The type A had a folding trigger which was considered safer and was issued to enlisted men and the type B was the officer's model and had a trigger guard. This particular gun is considered a late model because it has an internal hammer block safety, which is dovetailed into the hand (pictured). The early model had a external hammer block safety that was prone to breakage. I've personally seen multiple antique examples with broken external hammer block safeties. So it was a good move from a design standpoint to change. The early models also were finished in the white in a similar manner to the French model 1873 Chamelot-Delvignes were. This example is of course blued like the overwhelming majority of the late models. This revolver is in excellent condition mechanically and has minimal wear overall. The grips are in excellent condition and we're refinished professionally. The chambres and bore are in excellent & minty condition as well. And the bore itself is one of the best I've ever seen on a Bodeo, with clean, sharp and shiny lands and grooves. This revolver chambres the 10.35mm Italian ordinance cartridge. This cartridge is very similar to .44 Russian but has a smaller diameter bullet (.422) and a slightly tapered chambre. I have seen these shot with .44-40 bullets that are .427 in diameter. These revolvers were loaded with smokeless from the get-go in 1890 using ballastite, a smokeless propellant. For an additional fee on top of the price I can have the chambres slightly reamed so that they will accept .44 Russian cartridges. That way you can buy an off-the-shelf ammunition without the need to hand load. However these are quite easy to hand load and source components for. Many Czech produced post-war Mausers were made with mostly late war and some newly produced parts. These were sold to various different militaries and on the commercial market many and of these were sold to the Israelis as well. The rifle features many late war stamped parts including the oversized winter trigger guard but does include a half size cleaning rod unlike the Kriegsmodell K98's produced by the Germans. It does not have a stock disk, as it just has a hole drilled in the butt cap for disassembly of the bolt. This particular example has a low serial number, but the serial number ranges are all over because of different contracts. The whole gun matches with the new forced match serial number. It has a scrubbed receiver, and has a beech wood stock and handguard in a nice brown color. The rifle bore is actually in very good shape, but there is some stubborn fouling stuck in there and I don't have a 32 Caliber cleaning brush to remove it but I'm sure if you use the proper brush it should come out pretty easy since it's not rust. Just shooting the rifle might even remove it. The muzzle crown is an excellent condition as pictured. The rifle does have minor some stock damage. It looks like a vice dent or some sort of hammering pattern, but it's only on the one side (pictured). Overall the gun is in very good original condition and the action is nice and smooth and it is unfired by me. This is a nice unique example of a k98 made by Brno, who is very well known for their quality produced firearms. The rifle is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Apex Optics was founded in early 2020 by a group of western shooters from a range of competitive disciplines. Apex's first release will be the Rival 4-32x56 mm, which it's been developing for about 18 months. Apex partnered with Japan Optics to actually manufacture the scope, although it's designed here in Canuckistan. The scopes also undergo quality control testing in Japan, and a secondary round of quality control in Calgary. This scope has some unique features due to its design process, including Apex's proprietary CLR competition reticle. This first focal plane reticle is designed for long-range matches where shooters need their scope to handle quick transitions, with top half of the reticle unobstructed. It comes with ranging marks, for scenarios where you can't use electronic rangefinders, and has six-level illuminated main stadia. The scope also comes with elevation turret that features 15 MILs per revolution; windage and elevation adjustments are 0.1 MIL per click. The turrets are not locking, but come with mechanical zero stop and two-turn indicators (future scopes may come with locking turrets). There's a stainless steel pop-up turn indicator. Apex says it has the industry's first see-through integrated and removable throw lever. The new Rival scope has parallax knob indicators for approximate value for 100-, 200-, 500-, and 800-yard distances. There's a proprietary hydrophobic seven-layer multi-coated lens, and other features selected to give Apex's customers top performance. This is a budget friendly fixer upper Remington Model 1858 New Army revolver chambered for .44 caliber - price OBO. This revolver would have been born around the US Civil War, and based on level of wear probably saw use in the battle field before being harvested for parts at some point. Who knows what this revolver has seen in its long and resolute time on earth. Luckily it shows promise to be revived as parts still move freely and are not bound up. All required parts are available online, such as from Dixie Gun Works who accept international orders. Functional, a large caliber Remington Revolver in this shape this would generally go for $2000-$3000, with the only other one currently listed at $3800. Honestly I just don't have the time or interest to wait for the parts to show up and repair. My laziness is your gain. By my judgement, this revolver has the following issues: Barrel: loosened 1/16th turn, missing front sight and loading lever catch. Gouge around circumference and a couple dents. Frame: Cylinder pin is undersized (should get a replacement), needs seating lever and trigger guard/trigger guard screw Action: Needs cylinder hand, trigger return spring, and mainspring Overall these parts all appear to be available online from several websites including Positives are that the hammer and trigger move very freely without evidence of rust, and that the cylinder stop, trigger, and hammer interface all seem correct so that with a trigger return spring, mainspring, and cylinder hand all should be able to resume action operation and lockup. Probably a new cylinder pin would be beneficial for this also. The hardwood (walnut) replacement grips are very sturdy and fit well. The rifling is still present and does not look too worn. The frame is in great shape, with an "antiqued" dark grey patina that shows no evidence of active pitting. Overall a promising revolver for repair for an opportunistic buyer to add value. Selling to get some cash flow, this is an antique, all matching and fully operational Smith & Wesson top break double action new model #3 revolver. These were the first double action guns ever made by S&W, driven by demand to increase rapid performance at close quarters while still having the choice to shoot with more accuracy in single action. These were mostly chambered in the popular .44 Russian round. These can be purchased in cowboy loads from myself as part of the deal, found online, or easily reloaded with .44 russian, magnum, or special brass. As an antique, this handgun requires no licensing or registration to buy or own in Canada. Do your own legal research! This gun is serial number 35XXX, dating its manufacture to the late 1880s. As a nearly 140 year old gun, the mechanical condition is strong, with all three positions of the hammer exactly as desired and both single and double action trigger pulls nice and light. Indexing is reliable with a lockup of both the cylinder and the top break hatch having less than 1mm wiggle room. The original hard black grips are still sturdy and nice. The 6 inch barrel on this bad boy still has loads of accurate lead to deliver. Ejector functions perfectly. Visually, the overall look is a peppered patina. Very little of the original nickel remains, with a mottled "in the white" surface being most dominant. No severe or active oxidation can be found. All of the two line address and patent info are clearly visible on the top strap, with the S&W stylized logo featured strongly on the right side.
