The arrival of the main body of Indians in the early summer was one of the important events of the year at the posts along the shores of Hudson Bay. Andrew Graham, who was at York Factory for several years, has left us an eye-witness account of the elaborate ceremony that preceded the trading at York when the Indian canoe fleet arrived from the West. After they had landed at the fort and had been duly received by the governor (as the local officer in charge was known), the chief and his lieutenant were dressed up in European clothes and then escorted to the chief's lodge with much pageantry. "In front are the halberts and ensigns," writes Graham, "next to the drummer beating a march; then several of the Factory Servants bearing the bread, and prunes, pipes, brandy, tobacco, and the beaver coats of the chief, which he had on when admitted into the Factory. Then comes the Captain [chief] walking quite erect and stately, smoaking his pipe and conversing with the Governor and his officers; then follow the Lieutenant and perhaps a friend or two who was permitted to come in with the Chief." In the picture, the chief, attired in scarlet, with one red stocking and one blue, is seen walking with the governor in all his finery. German Third Reich-era SA (Sturmabteilung) service dagger, also known as the Model 1933 SA dress dagger. The SA was the Nazi Party’s paramilitary “Brownshirts” organization. This ceremonial dagger (not a combat weapon) features: •  a wooden grip with an inlaid nickel-silver SA rune button and eagle emblem •  nickel fittings •  a double-edged blade etched with the motto “Alles für Deutschland” (“All for Germany”) •  a brown scabbard The design draws from 16th-century Swiss Holbein daggers. Your example has a brown-painted scabbard (common on later wartime production), solid nickel or plated fittings, and a wooden grip—typical for SA daggers (NSKK versions are identical except for black scabbards after 1936). The blade shows a faint marking near the ricasso (possibly a maker logo or RZM code), light runner marks, and some wear/patina, indicating age and use. No visible Gau mark (regional stamp) on the lower crossguard suggests it may be mid-to-late production (post-1935, when such marks were phased out). The handle that is fixed to the knife is reproduction, but it does come with the original handle which is shown in the last picture. Here is a very good overall condition stepped barrel,  hex receiver Sako M24 Mosin from 1924. No rust or pitting anywhere. Stock is also very good with very few marks for its age. Bore is in excellent condition.  I recently took this rifle on trade from another collector. He took very good condition of this particular rifle. Rifle comes with adjustable sling. See pictures matching numbers, barrel and bolt.  Sako, which produced these in the 1920s as part of the Civil Guard’s arsenal. The 1924 date fits perfectly as the start of M/24 production, and the serial number 17266 is consistent with early examples. These were based on captured Russian M1891 actions, often with new barrels (you can see a stepped barrel from the photos), and saw use in WWII during Finland’s conflicts with the Soviet Union (Winter War and Continuation War). Near mint condition, would be mint but there are the usual light scratches here and there on the dust cover, although very minimal. This turntable was last serviced 2 years ago with a new belt installed at that time. Recently cleaned the pitch control pots with Deoxit, keeps speed perfectly. Primary use of this turntable back in the day was to transfer vinyl records over to cassette tape. Approx 75 records were transferred then it was stored until now.
