Vintage 1976 Technics SL-23 Belt Drive Semi-Automatic Turntable Near Mint
Near mint condition, would be mint but there are the usual light scratches here and there on the dust cover, although very minimal. This turntable was last serviced 2 years ago with a new belt installed at that time. Recently cleaned the pitch control pots with Deoxit, keeps speed perfectly. Primary use of this turntable back in the day was to transfer vinyl records over to cassette tape. Approx 75 records were transferred then it was stored until now. Not a whole lot of use on the player. Comes with a Shure M91ED MM cartridge and stylus. You would be hard pressed to find another SL-23 in this condition. Description (courtesy of vinylengine) The Technics SL-23 is a high-quality, belt-driven turntable with a newly developed FG (frequency generator) servo-controlled DC motor with IC. The unit features fabulous wow, flutter and rumble rating and has low power consumption for greater efficiency. The static-balanced, S-shaped tonearm has the benefit of automatic return/shut-off, and has a MM cartridge combined with the head shell for high compliance support and good channel separation. Rare Mint 1985 Sony FH-5 Compact High Density Component System *Read
Cosmetically this unit is in mint condition, I would say it’s a 9.5/10. Priced to sell. These sell for crazy money, working or not. This hefty “Boombox” is actually comprised of 3 separate components held together by metal brackets and 2 detachable speakers. The heavy duty handle is removeable. Weighs 30lbs without batteries! Runs on AC or optional 10 X D cell batteries. Has 3 sets of RCA inputs, 1 is a dedicated phono input (built in MM pre-amp) and 2 are for a CD player, etc. The sound that pumps out of this thing is nuts. Components have had all the switches and pots cleaned with DeoxIT. Tested and everything besides the tape deck is working as it should. Also tested with a turntable. *Note: The tape deck is not functioning. Just had the belts replaced professionally and they noticed that one of the idler wheel assemblies has an issue. They tried to correct the problem, and it worked for a few days, then stopped working properly. Brought it back to them and they told me that it would need to be replaced. They could not find a replacement. Individual Components: TC-58 Tape Deck - Auto-reverse playback, automatic recording level, auto play and automatic sensor. ST-58 Tuner – AM/FM stereo with telescopic antenna and inputs for optional external antenna’s TA-58 Integrated Stereo Amplifier – 2 X 25 W into 8 ohm speakers on AC power or 2 X 3.5 W on battery power. Phono input plus 2 more RCA inputs. Built in 5 band graphic equalizer. APM-058 Speakers – 3-Way super wide speaker system, 4 ohm, 25W (nom) 50W (peak)
