The M3 was developed in the 1980’s for special operations and elite law enforcement units who required a shotgun that could adapt to various tactical roles. It’s dual-mode system allows for effective operation of both standard and special purpose ammunition, (i.e. rubber, tear, flare, etc.) on the fly.
