I have a very good condition vintage Winchester 1885 in .45 70 that I'm prepared to sell. It started out as a .38-55 and was sleeved to .22 l.r.. I had the 28 inch, half octagon, half round heavy barrel bored and rechambered by Ron K. Smith in Alberta to .45 70 and an aperture sight installed. As you would expect with an RKS barrel, it is accurate. It has correct walnut stocks, refinished, with the heavy crescent butt plate. The action wall has been reduced on the right side to more easily eject spent .22 l.r. shells; Mr. Smith assured me this does not reduce the strength of the action. The lever/trigger guard has been modified to make levering faster. I've got $2800 invested in this rifle which I'd like to recover. I'll split actual shipping costs with the buyer. Selling/trading an Ithaca Model 49 Saddlegun single shot lever .22 lr. Overall it's in very nice shape but does have some trouble extracting the shell from what I was told. Bluing on the barrel and mag tube is all in nice shape. Receiver looks to be done in a black paint. Wood stocks are in very nice shape, butt stock has two lines in it where it was once shortened - the insert was put back together very well and not as noticeable. Bore is very nice.
