VKT (Valmet), or the State Rifle Factory became operational September 9, 1928. Since 1930 Valmet's factory rifle club was active as well, having their hand in the design of the Finnish Lion, together with Aimo Lahti, the chief designer. 2. Serial numbers start from #1 (1932), and end into # 14,358 (1979). 4. The bolt and trigger are said to have been ahead of their time. The lock time is fast. Also the barrels were accurate. Champion models should have a set trigger, which makes lock time longer, but reduces pull weight. 5.
