I bought it new in 2008 and shot it casually over the years with almost nothing but lead trap loads. Recently it developed a problem cycling the action after the shot. It will always fire. However, sometimes it will cycle the action, other times the action cycles half way and stops, and still other times it will not cycle at all. Sometimes it picks up a new shell and sometimes it won't. Sometimes is locks up and can only be freed by popping the barrel and the action bars out and re assembling it. I don't have the time or interest to look into it . It might be a simple fix who knows. I already bought a gun to replace it. This isI a package deal only. This includes the gun as it came from the factory, with 1 modified choke tube, a wrench, 27(?) Inch barrel. It will also come with a Remington 20 inch fully rifled 12 gauge barrel that has open sights. This barrel has 11 slugs through it and was used on 1 trip to shoot a moose. Reloadable ammo is available but sold separately. Colt M1892 "New Army" Revolver has significant improvements over M1889 with better locking and indexing mechanism. This one is in excellent condition. The nitro blue on the trigger and hammer is well visible and retains 95% of original blued finish. The action is strong and accurate, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly very little play on trigger pull. The bore of the 4 1/2 inch barrel is good and bright with strong rifling. The markings are sharp and defined throughout. The assembly numbers on the cylinder, crane and frame. The original grips are good and undamaged.​​ S/N 71799 History & Background This model is an important milestone in Colt handgun development, as it is the first American revolver with a swing-out cylinder mounted on a crane, a development which would become the standard for modern revolvers to this day. The 1889 cylinder mechanism was already "on the books" as early as 1880, based on designs of Colt engineers William Mason, C.J Ehbets and Horace Lord. It would take almost ten years for Colt executives to give the green light to manufacture this gun, and once it was available, the US government quickly took notice and ordered several thousand for the Navy. Colt adopted the name "New Navy" in honor of this order. The gun has an interesting counter-clockwise cylinder rotation and a locking mechanism which relies entirely on the two-pronged hand. Easily accommodates 2 rifles ( see photos ) ...... a great metal gun case ( if somewhat heavy construction ) which I purchased to hunt overseas. It has not seen much use ( actually only  1 flight on a hunting trip to New Zealand  carrying both a Malcolm scoped 16 lb., 32" barreled Sharps long range and an a scoped 10 lb. mid range ) , as well as a dozen or so trips by car to various gun shows in North America, at which I used to display various select arms from my Sharps and Remington Rolling Block collection. The sturdily built case weighs about 17.8 lbs. by itself and measures 53 1/2 " x 13 1/4 " x 4 1/2" . I have tried my best to photograph and show the few dents on both sides of the case. These are now in the $600 plus price range for a new one. YES, both keys still come with it!   I am willing to ship at buyer’s expense, or offer local pick up --- I am also in Red Deer one day per week and can arrange to meet there, or enroute, for delivery.

Hey I have a very tight old #2 grade twist steel barrel 12ga remington 1889 the gun is in good conditio other than the left barrel that has damage to it.. it could be cut down i was told for a coach gun or used as a wall hanger or parts.. its a shame because the gun is really nice other than the barrel but to the right person looking for a stock or parts for this particular model this is a awesome find.. and this would look amazing as a decoration next to those other double barrels or rwmingtons you may have displayed $325 shipped as is
