The rifling lands in front of the chamber had separated from barrel for about 1.25" and 1 land was protruding into bore. Cut off 2" of barrel chamber end. Machined new barrel end to fit receiver tighter by .002" and rechambered for 22 short only. At range gun shot 1/4" - 5 shot group at 50 yds. shooting CCI 22 short - 27 gr. HP. This Military Cooey Model 82 trainer from WW2 was used for drilling purposes, target shooting, Home Guard and Cadet training.There is a Stock Number and C broad arrow on the bottom of the pistol grip and a crest on the top of the receiver. The bolt also has the C broad arrow. Nice walnut stock with minor marks on the stock as can be expected on a training rifle.
