Apex Rival 4-32x56 Precision Rifle Scope
Want a new optic, and want to buy Canadian? There's a new option for Canadian glass, sort of: Apex Optics is based in Calgary, but its scopes are actually manufactured in Japan. Apex Optics was founded in early 2020 by a group of western shooters from a range of competitive disciplines. Their goal was to create a new optics brand for competition and long-range shooting reflecting their backgrounds (IPSC, Steel Challenge, 3-Gun, Precision Rimfire, Extreme Long Range, etc.). Several of these shooters are well-known in the west's shooting scene, with long history of competition. Apex's first release will be the Rival 4-32x56 mm, which it's been developing for about 18 months. Apex partnered with Japan Optics to actually manufacture the scope, although it's designed here in Canuckistan. The scopes also undergo quality control testing in Japan, and a secondary round of quality control in Calgary. This scope has some unique features due to its design process, including Apex's proprietary CLR competition reticle. This first focal plane reticle is designed for long-range matches where shooters need their scope to handle quick transitions, with top half of the reticle unobstructed. It comes with ranging marks, for scenarios where you can't use electronic rangefinders, and has six-level illuminated main stadia. You can see a full explanation of the CLR reticle design at Apex's website. The scope also comes with elevation turret that features 15 MILs per revolution; windage and elevation adjustments are 0.1 MIL per click. The turrets are not locking, but come with mechanical zero stop and two-turn indicators (future scopes may come with locking turrets). There's a stainless steel pop-up turn indicator. Apex says it has the industry's first see-through integrated and removable throw lever. The new Rival scope has parallax knob indicators for approximate value for 100-, 200-, 500-, and 800-yard distances. There's a proprietary hydrophobic seven-layer multi-coated lens, and other features selected to give Apex's customers top performance. The scopes are certified IP67 dustproof/waterproof, and 1200G shockproof. THE BEST WARRANTY YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO USE. WORLD-CLASS SUPPORT WHEN YOU DO, THAT IS OUR OATH TO YOU! All of our products carry a Lifetime Warranty. We’ll replace any product if it’s not up to our standards of quality and durability, no questions asked. If something stopped working as it should, then let us know and we’ll take care of it at no cost to you. The only things we don’t cover are “Acts of God” like fire, lighting strikes and flooding. Most of those scenarios are typically covered by your insurance. We also don’t cover theft or intentional/neglectful damage or destruction.

METAL FINISH TURNING SILVER GREY WITH LIGHT PITTING, SCRATCHES, HANDLING MARKS AND WEAR. STOCKS SHOW DINGS, MARKS AND WEAR. ACTION: STRAIGHT PULL RIFLE, BARREL LENGTH: 30.75", CLASS: CANADIAN NON RESTRICTED. The Schmidt–Rubin rifles were a series of Swiss Army service rifles in use between 1889 and 1958. They are distinguished by the straight-pull bolt action invented by Rudolf Schmidt and use Eduard Rubin's GP90 7.5×53.5 and GP11 7.5×55 Schmidt–Rubin rifle cartridge. The Schmidt–Rubin 1896/11 rifle, or the Model 96/11, was a Swiss upgrade to the 89/96 rifles they had, to use the more powerful cartridge adopted as the GP11. The GP11 cartridge operated at a higher chamber pressure, which the 89/96 action could easily handle. The model 89/96 rifles were modernized by changing the three-groove rifled barrel to a new 4-groove type, adding a pistol grip to the stock, changing the magazine to the 6-round type used in the 1900 short rifle, and modernizing the sights. This also streamlined the appearance of the rifles. Because more rifles were needed than were available, the model 1911 rifle, with slight changes, was put into production. Almost all of the 127,000-plus model 89/96 rifles were converted to the 96/11 specifications. An improvement over the original 1889 version of the Schmidt–Rubin rifle, the Swiss M1911 placed the locking lugs in the middle of the bolt, rather than at the rear, strengthening the action and allowing a more powerful cartridge, the Gewehrpatrone 11 or GP 11 to be used. It is distinguished from the 96/11 rifle by a curved butt plate and by a stock with an integral semi-pistol grip. It uses a graduated tangent sight which begins at 300 meters. The 1911 and 96/11 rifles were made with excellent craftsmanship, and were exceptionally accurate. As Switzerland remained neutral through both world wars, remaining rifles are typically in far better condition than other European rifles of the time. Vortex Strikefire II Red Dot
For sale is a Strikefire II red dot system from Vortex optics. This sight features a 30mm tube design, providing a larger field of view and the ability to conveniently mount it at any height using common 30mm rings. It has a 4 MOA dot that is easy to acquire quickly, and is switchable between red / green. There are 10 adjustable brightness settings, chosen with the rear facing controls. The last chosen level is where the unit powers up to. The included cantilever mount is ideal for AR platforms, as it places the optics bore center 40mm above the base surface. Although it is not limited to AR's, this versatile sight will work just as well across countless other applications that require rapid target acquisition. Shockproof construction with a high recoil rating, due to its robust design, making it ideal for a long list of calibres. Waterproof and fog-proof, thanks to nitrogen gas purging. Includes flip-up lens covers, and a cantilever ring mount. This sight is not brand new, but it's in great shape, and was well taken care of. Every aspect of it functions like it should, right off the shelf. If used optics are a concerning area to you, fear not, as this sight is covered by the industry leading VIP Unconditional Lifetime Warranty from Vortex. I have also got a pair of rail mounted, offset, folding BUIS (back up iron sights), which serve as a great last resort, in the event the battery dies on the sight. These are definitely better suited for a long, flat top rail as opposed to a short section on top of a shotgun. They sit on a 45° axis when deployed, have 2 options for the adjustable rear sight ring size, and an adjustable front pin height. The springs are very strong in these, and they firmly snap into position at the push of a button. Asking $225 for the red dot alone, or $275 including the BUIS. Located near Hardisty, AB Can ship at buyers expense, quote available upon request. Will be right around $25 within Alberta.
