They are distinguished by the straight-pull bolt action invented by Rudolf Schmidt and use Eduard Rubin's GP90 7.5×53.5 and GP11 7.5×55 Schmidt–Rubin rifle cartridge. The Schmidt–Rubin 1896/11 rifle, or the Model 96/11, was a Swiss upgrade to the 89/96 rifles they had, to use the more powerful cartridge adopted as the GP11. The GP11 cartridge operated at a higher chamber pressure, which the 89/96 action could easily handle. The model 89/96 rifles were modernized by changing the three-groove rifled barrel to a new 4-groove type, adding a pistol grip to the stock, changing the magazine to the 6-round type used in the 1900 short rifle, and modernizing the sights. This also streamlined the appearance of the rifles. Because more rifles were needed than were available, the model 1911 rifle, with slight changes, was put into production. Almost all of the 127,000-plus model 89/96 rifles were converted to the 96/11 specifications. An improvement over the original 1889 version of the Schmidt–Rubin rifle, the Swiss M1911 placed the locking lugs in the middle of the bolt, rather than at the rear, strengthening the action and allowing a more powerful cartridge, the Gewehrpatrone 11 or GP 11 to be used. Started out at $1200 Now $950 (as of Dec 15th) According to the serial number 161XXX, it puts the date of manufacturing to 1902, crescent butt plate, semi-buckhorn rear sight, all original except rear sight elevator is a replacement. Round 26" barrel, dark bore, good rifling, approx. 20% plum finish remains with lacquering on some of the metal. Dark walnut forend & stock (original) with the stock having a small piece missing from the left side and about a 1.25" old crack on the wood right side both near the bottom of the tang/guard (pictures are attached) but stock is still mounted solid to the tang. Action is still quite tight for it's age and old sling swivels had been added to the rifle at some point in it's younger years. Must have valid PAL to purchase and will be verified. Many Czech produced post-war Mausers were made with mostly late war and some newly produced parts. These were sold to various different militaries and on the commercial market many and of these were sold to the Israelis as well. The rifle features many late war stamped parts including the oversized winter trigger guard but does include a half size cleaning rod unlike the Kriegsmodell K98's produced by the Germans. It does not have a stock disk, as it just has a hole drilled in the butt cap for disassembly of the bolt. This particular example has a low serial number, but the serial number ranges are all over because of different contracts. The whole gun matches with the new forced match serial number. It has a scrubbed receiver, and has a beech wood stock and handguard in a nice brown color. The rifle bore is actually in very good shape, but there is some stubborn fouling stuck in there and I don't have a 32 Caliber cleaning brush to remove it but I'm sure if you use the proper brush it should come out pretty easy since it's not rust. Just shooting the rifle might even remove it. The muzzle crown is an excellent condition as pictured. The rifle does have minor some stock damage. It looks like a vice dent or some sort of hammering pattern, but it's only on the one side (pictured). Overall the gun is in very good original condition and the action is nice and smooth and it is unfired by me. This is a nice unique example of a k98 made by Brno, who is very well known for their quality produced firearms. The rifle is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime. If you live in Alberta I do get around the province a fair bit throughout the year, so if I happen to be heading to your area maybe we can do a meet up along the way on my travels to save you the shipping costs. Howdy there Townpost! I have another custom 12 Gauge delight for you to take a gander at! This is a custom-made one of a kind Ithaca M37 Featherlite put together by my gunsmith for me. As pictured, the overall length is 30 inches long and has a barrel length of 18.5 inches. It weighs 5 lbs, 7oz unloaded, so Featherlight is definitely even more apt than this when this thing was full length. Some fairly extensive work was done. Most notably the barrel and stock were cut down and reshaped the muzzle crown was nicely dressed with file work and reblued and it's nice, smooth and square to the barrel. The original red Ithaca fibreoptic front bead site was reinstalled at the new muzzle. The stock bolt with shortened and a nice decorative cast pewter medallion was added to the butt of the stock to cover up the bolt hole and add very nice piece of decorative flair. And sling swivels were added so this can carried around on sling. The action is very smooth the action release locks up properly, and the spring on it is in good condition. And it slam fires without a problem. What is slam fire you may ask? It means you can hold down the trigger and work the action and every time you close the action with the trigger held down the gun will fire. The gun will fire as fast as you can work the action. So needless to say it's pretty fun to shoot.  This would make an excellent hiking, camping or backpacking shotgun for predator defense in my opinion. Or if she just want a sawed-off shotgun that you can slam fire this is the gun for you. Ithaca started making short versions of the M37 for law enforcement called the Stakeout I believe those were mostly in 20 gauge and they came out sometime in the 70s or '80s. Inland Manufacturing to this day makes something similar to this called the Stakeout II for the US market with an MSRP of $750US. Short versions of the M37 have appeared in a lot of media, probably most notably is the shotgun in the movie Aliens where it's used for "close encounters". There's a well documented cut down Ithaca Featherweight by a Navy SEAL who put a duckbill spreader on it, put a magazine tube extension so that it held 8 and cut the stock off in much the fashion that this one is. The shotgun is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime. It's very short when broken down, and light so it should be cheap to ship. PAL is a must!

Steel is in very nice shape throughout with only light marks/imperfections here and there. Wood stocks are in nice shape, has a hole for a sling stud in the forestock, sling loop on the butt stock isn't factory. Factory drilled/tapped for a scope mount. Bore is in very nice shape.
