He had a friend make a new front part from the band to the noes cap. I had a friend make a new noes cap like the original. We did shot it a few years ago. For sale is a Chiappa 1874 Sharps Sporting Competition rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt. It is a single-shot, falling-block rifle, with double set triggers. It has a 32" heavy octagon barrel (w/ an OAL of 49"). This model has a hand oiled walnut stock and forend, with beautiful color case hardened finish on the action. It has a blade (front) and ladder (rear) sight (adjustable for windage & elevation). It is in great condition with only one box of ammo (i.e., 20 rounds) through it. This rifle weighs over 10 lbs!
