Looking to part with my beautiful Browning BLR 81L Long Action in 7mm Rem Mag. Serial # trace sets it as manufactured in 1993. Heavy steel receiver and made in Japan. You may find the odd minor blemish here and there on the stock if you look really, really hard. But the stock and bluing is near perfect top to bottom. Slight discoloration on the side of the bolt as shown in the photos. I bought this rifle at a gun show a couple years back and don't know who the first owners were. I had plans of topping it with an optic but have not purchased one for it (just the bases). I have put 38 rounds down range over the past 4 years with the irons. Always cleaned and lightly oiled after each use. It is hard to believe this rifle is 33 years old. I just don't love the lever action as much as I thought I would, and I'm looking to change to a bolt action in a different caliber for my future intentions. Hello I'm selling a Arisaka-Carcano Type I Rifle, it is Italian made for the Japanese Imperial Navy for WW2. This is a combination of the Carcano 1891 and a Type 38. It has the action and barrel of a Carcano and it is chambered in 6.5 Jap, has the 2 piece stock, 5 round internal magazine, and the sighting system of the early Type 38. The bolt and receiver has markings from Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi - Brescia, this is the more uncommon version accounting for roughly only a quarter of production with total estimates from 60k-130k across all factories. Two types of Type I buttstocks were made, the short and long version and this rifle is the long buttstock version. The bolt on the Type I cannot be swapped with a Carcano and vice versa as the Type I bolt has a slightly different location cut for the ejector. The exterior metal has some surface wear and some light surface rust with the buttplate being the most worn. The internals and bore are in good condition with good rifling as shown in the images and the bullet test, the bullet I used was the 6.5 Jap Norma Factory ammo. It is missing the cleaning rod and ejector, luckily the ejector is readily avaliable in parts stores such as Numrich. The rifle has a hidden duffle cut under the front barrel band, the previous owner repaired the duffle cut by putting a small wooden dowel in the cleaning rod hole and glueing the 2 pieces together. The glue has come loose and would need to be re-glued. The rifle shoots well using 0.264 Speer bullet handloads at 25M with all the shots landing well without any keyholeing. This, the infamous rifle that was said to be the most accurate and well built for it's time, it's more known for causing the deaths of tens of thousands of Canadians and the other countries that adopted this rifle for the reason of fighting in the trenches WW1 and would get sand/mud ECT in the bolt action though it was so well made the precision and delicate machining of this had it opened to jamming, and when our troops ran into this under fire, to clean it out was time consuming, I bought this back around early 2000's for the purpose of giving it to a museum that has my great grandfather's war memorial, the plan changed a while back and looking to downsize, I don't use it for any purpose and has been locked up for years.
