Samozaryadny Karabin Simonova Russian manufactured 7.62×39 caliber carbine. This edition was produced at the Izhevsk factory (arrow in triangle in circle factory symbol) in 1953. They only made these rifles in 1953 & 1954 at the Izhevsk factory. That makes this model version a more rare Russian model as opposed to the SKS's from the Tula factory which produced higher numbers, This rifle is in excellent shape with the rifling in great condition. Maybe a few very minor handling/storage blemishes. I have not fired the rifle and I have no way of confirming its history, but it looks to be in great condition. VKT (Valmet), or the State Rifle Factory became operational September 9, 1928. The Finnish Lion has the longest manufacturing time of all Finnish guns, from 1930 to 1979.
