All Swedish Mausers other than trials rifles were chambered for the 6.5×55mm Swedish cartridge, and all Swedish-made actions were proof-tested with a single 6.5×55mm proof round developing approximately 455 MPa (65,992 psi) piezo pressure (55,000 CUP).[4][5] Swedish Mausers were manufactured by Waffenfabrik Mauser AG in Oberndorf a/N in Germany and in Sweden by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori and Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag. All Swedish Mausers, whether built in Germany or Sweden, were fabricated using a Swedish-supplied high grade tool steel alloyed with nickel, copper, and vanadium, a product then noted for its strength and corrosion resistance. These rifles, like other pre-M 98 system Mauser rifles, lack the third safety locking lug at the rear of the bolt and feature "cock-on-closing" (similar to the contemporary Lee–Enfield rifle). Consignment sale: Selling/trading an Argentinean Mauser Model 1909 in 30-06 that was part of world renowned gunsmith Martin Hagn's personal collection. Has a 23" Hammerli barrel marked with Martin Hagn along the top. Metal work was done by Martin, colour case hardening was done by Turnbull Restoration, engraving done by MRM Engraving which includes all small parts including each individual screw head. Has a trap door grip cap which holds spare iron sights within it. Gold "Hagn" inlay ontop of the receiver, an inset pin at the tang commemorating his trophy bull harvested in Sweden, and a gold monogram on the underside of the butt. Stock work was also done by Martin and includes an ebony forend. Comes topped with its original iron sights as well as quick detach claw mounts with a Zeiss Diavaari 1.5-6x42mm scope with German #4 reticle. 7x57 (7mm Mauser) built by H. Berg on a Mauser 98 Action from Flensburg (NE Germany).  Specs:  24" Barrel using Bohler Spezial Austrian Steel (not sure the twist rate). Walnut Stock, 3-position safety, double-set triggers (roughly 5.5 lbs & 2.5 lbs).  Flip-Up express rear sight.  This is a "Hunting Gun" and shows typical scuffs, scrapes and minor dents throughout.  The receiver has NOT been drilled & tapped.  The test target shown was only at 25 yards, just to prove that the gun shoots well.  On the underside of the barrel is bare metal (32 mm X 6mm) where I believe there was a mounted front swivel on a plate.  There is no swivel on the fore-stock but could easily be installed.  The barrel is clean & bright with good rifling.  This would be a great quad gun or open sight deer stalking rifle through the woods.  I'm selling because I have four other 7X57's and trying to reduce my collection. Light to moderate wear on wood, it is over 100 years old, crest is in very good sharp condition. Barrel, receiver, and bolt has not been reblued floor plate, and trigger assembly looks like it has been reblued. stock has not been sanded.
