The action is strong and tight, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly. The bore of the 2 1/2 inch barrel is very good, with strong rifling. The rosewood grips are excellent and undamaged, with varnish intact. SN 289, very good overall. History & Background One of the most prolific makers in America was the firm of Hopkins & Allen. Founded in 1868 by the principals Charles Converse, Charles and Samuel Hopkins, and Charles Allen, the firm assumed the assets of the Bacon Manufacturing Company. H&A used Bacon's machinery and inventory of parts, and continued at first to make Bacon's various models before switching to cartridge revolvers and later rifles and shot guns. H&A was in business until 1915, and claimed to be the "largest manufacturers of high-grade, popular priced firearms in the world". Hopkins & Allen were well known for their pocket revolvers and Merwin & Hulbert branded large-frame revolvers. H&A are generally of a better quality and workmanship than other suicide specials.

Czech K98k in 8x57 Manufactured after WWII at Brno factory.The L serial block id makes it 1946-1947. All numbers matching except the safety and cocking piece were numbered when factory was reusing some old parts. Matching number laminated stock. This is the K98k that was the predecessor to VZ24. It has the typical rampant lion crest. Turned-down bolt handle. Very clean example. Excellent shape. No rust. Value is $1600-$1900 condition depending. This one is very clean in excellent+ condition. Non-Restricted rifle Remington model P17, .30-06 bolt action, w/ bbl length 24" [Blued barrel and receiver. Fixed front, no rear sight. Fitted with Universal 4X32 scope. Sporterized wooden Monte Carlo stock with aluminum butt plate. Fitted with sling mounts. Marked NOT ENGLISH MAKE, logo with crown and BM on left side of receiver. Other markings include .30/06 NITRO PROOF etc. on barrel, BM logo on bolt but no serial number seen. Parts gun as receiver has a crack by the nitro proof marks. Bluing worn in use and handling areas. Two drilled and tapped holes on right side of receiver with corresponding notch removed on stock, presumably from once attached rear peep sight. Handling and storage marks on wood and metal. CFP/RCMP courtesy of Bill C-71 require any firearm to have a transfer registration number approved by the CFT to sell, give or transfer as of MAY 18, 2022. Seller needs the full name and PAL of the buyer with DOB and email as on file with the CFP. Seller then submits information on the RCMP CFP Individual Web Services which confirms the buyers PAL as valid or not with a Reference Number. Failure to do so is subject to Sections 99 & 101 of the Criminal code
