This ORIGINAL 1895 Marlin rifle was shipped from the New Haven, Connecticut factory on Apr. 29, 1903. Solidly built for the larger calibers, this one in 38-56 cal. and is in NRA fine condition. The receiver now appears as silver although its original case hardening pattern can still be made out. The rest of the metal has taken on a brownish patina. All numbers and lettering are sharp and legible. The barrel a 26 inch long smokeless steel SPECIAL order half round, half octagon version, with a 1/2 magazine. The bore is good with intact rifling and a bit of shine. The wood is a SPECIAL order walnut with a beautiful grain pattern on both the forearm as well as the butt stock. While no longer factory available the 38-56 caliber is equivalent to the 35 Rem. Reloading components are available from various sources. Marlin only produced only 18,000 Model 1895's, in contrast to Winchester producing 160,000 model 1886's which was the Marlin's counterpart and competition. This alone makes the Marlin a comparatively rare firearm. Factory Letter is included. All components that are numbered have been determined to be Matching! The windage adjustment of the rear sight was also dispensed with, and the cocking piece was changed from a round knob to a serrated slab. Rifles with some or all of these features present are found, as the changes were implemented at different times in different factories and as stocks of parts were depleted. The magazine cut-off was reinstated after the First World War ended, and not entirely dispensed with in manufacturing until 1933. The SMLE Mk III* (renamed Rifle No.1 Mk III* in 1926) saw extensive service throughout the Second World War, especially in the North African, Italian, Pacific and Burmese theatres in the hands of British and Commonwealth forces. Australia and India retained and manufactured the SMLE Mk III* as their standard rifle during the conflict, and the rifle remained in Australian military service through the Korean War, until it was replaced by the L1A1 SLR in the late 1950s.The Lithgow Small Arms Factory finally ceased production of the SMLE Mk III* in 1953.

Selling/trading an 1862 Enfield Snider rifle inn .577 Snider. These were modified rifles carried by the Metis as "Blanket Guns" during the Red River and Northwest Rebellions associated with Louis Riel. Based on the ornate decoration and configuration of the rifle, this would have been a period correct gun of that time. Barrel is a smoothbore. Wood stocks shows normal wear for its age but is in good solid shape. Steel has patina'd and shows well. Action has some play in it, hammer is cocked slightly to the left. A very unique piece. No PAL required, just proof of age. Would suggest having this gone over by a gunsmith prior to firing. Looking for $995 shipped. Insurance by request on buyer. Open to all trades. Hello I'm selling a Arisaka-Carcano Type I Rifle, it is Italian made for the Japanese Imperial Navy for WW2. This is a combination of the Carcano 1891 and a Type 38. It has the action and barrel of a Carcano and it is chambered in 6.5 Jap, has the 2 piece stock, 5 round internal magazine, and the sighting system of the early Type 38. The bolt and receiver has markings from Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi - Brescia, this is the more uncommon version accounting for roughly only a quarter of production with total estimates from 60k-130k across all factories. Two types of Type I buttstocks were made, the short and long version and this rifle is the long buttstock version. The bolt on the Type I cannot be swapped with a Carcano and vice versa as the Type I bolt has a slightly different location cut for the ejector. The exterior metal has some surface wear and some light surface rust with the buttplate being the most worn. The internals and bore are in good condition with good rifling as shown in the images and the bullet test, the bullet I used was the 6.5 Jap Norma Factory ammo. It is missing the cleaning rod and ejector, luckily the ejector is readily avaliable in parts stores such as Numrich. The rifle has a hidden duffle cut under the front barrel band, the previous owner repaired the duffle cut by putting a small wooden dowel in the cleaning rod hole and glueing the 2 pieces together. The glue has come loose and would need to be re-glued. The rifle shoots well using 0.264 Speer bullet handloads at 25M with all the shots landing well without any keyholeing.
