With original finish remains, the markings are well visible. The action is strong and accurate, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly. There is minimal side-to-side movement. The bore of the 6 inch barrel is very good, with strong rifling and little signs of wear and use. The original wooden grips are very good and undamaged. There is no wear visible. The front sight has been upgraded with a German silver blade for better accuracy. SN 12499, very good overall.​ History & Background Smith and Wesson's first double action design dates back to at least 1872 - years before Colt ever attempted a double action cartridge revolver. It was mentioned in a letter to the Russian envoy General Orlof, and although the sale to Russia never materialized, it served to pave the way for the very popular and successful line of double action top break revolvers. The .44 Russian model was actually the first to be produced as a prototype, and the last to be released for sale to the public. For this reason there exists a degree of confusion over the proper terminology: the first one to be manufactured for sale was the .38 caliber model, followed by the .32. The .44 caliber model was not released until 1881, and is variably known as the No. 3 Double Action, the Double Action "Navy" (a name Daniel Wesson wanted to keep alive to differentiate this model from the No. 3 single action, and still holding out hope to sell it to the Russian navy), and the First Model Double Action. Originally, the .44 Double Action was made with a 1 7/16 inch cylinder, however an optional .44-40 version was available as of 1886. This required a 1 9/16 inch cylinder, and a longer frame. The firm soon realized that it was too expensive and cumbersome to manufacture two different sizes of frames for what was essentially the same gun, and the shorter cylinder and frame were dropped for the longer one in the early 1890's. The No. 3 frame .44 double action top breaks were dropped from the Smith and Wesson catalogue in 1913.

Howdy Townpost. I've got a number of these brand new Allen slings for sale. The slings I have here are an improvement over the regular Allen Endura. This batch of slings has cam buckles (sometimes called toggle clips) instead of tri-glides. They're easier to use and make attaching the webbing loops to sling swivels really quick and easy. The sling loop sections are longer and could even be used as a carry strap for small logs or something heavy in a pinch. The slings can be adjusted from 28" to 52" so they're quite versatile. The slings are $10 each. I'm currently offering a buy 3 get 1 free deal. The slings are located in SW Calgary and can be picked up almost anytime. I am also happy to ship nationwide, this is of course at the buyer's expense. Shipping these as regular or expedited parcels should be fairly cheap since I can roll up the sling into a little roll and put it into a very small box or mailer. Howdy Townpost! I have a unique one for you this time. You there sir or madam! You wouldn't want to travel these dangerous streets without some form of protection under your coat! Have a look at this and turn off barrel pistol with a switchblade bayonet for backup, made by Mr. Nock. You may need it should you encounter any rowdies! This is a single shot box lock percussion pistol. It's a screw-barrel meaning you unthread the barrel, fill the powder chamber and place a ball on top it. You then use the barrel itself and the threads to seat the ball inside of the breach. Then a percussion cap on the nipple, put it at half cock put it in your dapper overcoat and pull it out should you meet any Scallywags on your travels. In my opinion this is an early Samuel Nock made Circa 1840s pistol. Based on comparable examples I've seen and the style of Engraving and construction of the pistol this appears to be an early production Samuel Nock made pistol. Samuel Nock was the nephew and an apprentice of of the more famous Henry Nock. Samuel knock became a very skilled and renowned gun maker in his own right. Most of his guns would be marked S. Nock but some of his earlier stuff had only his last name. I suspect he was trying to trade on his more famous uncle's name at the time. Overall the pistol is in pretty good condition except for a small hairline crack in the frame (pictured). There is some moderate pitting in the bore however it looks worse in the photo than it actually is. This is a smooth bore pistol and is breech loading so the pitting shouldn't make it difficult to load or shoot. This pistol was intended for point blank range shooting by virtue of the fact that has a stubby little bayonet to use in case you missed your target. The pistol mechanically fine. The trigger and lockwork are all in good working order and the spring loaded bayonet mechanism works perfectly. They are often broken because of the small springs and the daily carry type use of these firearms. The pistol is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide too.

Howdy Townpost! I've gotten my hands on some stubby steelies! These are new production Yugoslavian military patterned magazines made in Croatia. These are well made and the milling was done well too. These are all properly pinned to 5 rounds. And are nice for hunting with a shorter mag or hauling it around with a shorter and lighter mag when compared to standard a 5/30 rounder. These magazines will also work with an AK magazine coupler (I have these for sale for $20). Which for an SKS-D some plastic on the coupler must be removed first. The M10X should work with a coupler without issues the same goes for the WK-181 and modded mags in the Type-81. These can be modified to fit into a Type-81. I also have modded mags for sale which are $55 each. I am the only seller who has these Croatian 5/10's in Canada. Even the crappy Gen.1 KCI 5/10's are out of stock practically everywhere in Canada. This is a limited run, so don't miss out. The mags are $40 each. The mags will come in a plastic bag in preserving oil that can be easily cleaned up with any degreaser or simply hot water and dish soap in your kitchen sink with a quick scrub and then dried. It's a good idea too to apply a light coat of gun oil. A single drop rubbed across the entire mag is enough. These mags will fit in the SKS-D, the M10X series, and they might require some hand fitting to work in the WK-181, since Kodiak designed those things with odd magwell dimensions with PMAGS in mind. In all likelihood though, they will work out of the box for you. The magazines are located in SW Calgary and can be picked up anytime. Howdy there Townpost! I have another custom 12 Gauge delight for you to take a gander at! This is a custom-made one of a kind Ithaca M37 Featherlite put together by my gunsmith for me. As pictured, the overall length is 30 inches long and has a barrel length of 18.5 inches. It weighs 5 lbs, 7oz unloaded, so Featherlight is definitely even more apt than this when this thing was full length. Some fairly extensive work was done. Most notably the barrel and stock were cut down and reshaped the muzzle crown was nicely dressed with file work and reblued and it's nice, smooth and square to the barrel. The original red Ithaca fibreoptic front bead site was reinstalled at the new muzzle. The stock bolt with shortened and a nice decorative cast pewter medallion was added to the butt of the stock to cover up the bolt hole and add very nice piece of decorative flair. And sling swivels were added so this can carried around on sling. The action is very smooth the action release locks up properly, and the spring on it is in good condition. And it slam fires without a problem. What is slam fire you may ask? It means you can hold down the trigger and work the action and every time you close the action with the trigger held down the gun will fire. The gun will fire as fast as you can work the action. So needless to say it's pretty fun to shoot.  This would make an excellent hiking, camping or backpacking shotgun for predator defense in my opinion. Or if she just want a sawed-off shotgun that you can slam fire this is the gun for you. Ithaca started making short versions of the M37 for law enforcement called the Stakeout I believe those were mostly in 20 gauge and they came out sometime in the 70s or '80s. Inland Manufacturing to this day makes something similar to this called the Stakeout II for the US market with an MSRP of $750US. Short versions of the M37 have appeared in a lot of media, probably most notably is the shotgun in the movie Aliens where it's used for "close encounters". There's a well documented cut down Ithaca Featherweight by a Navy SEAL who put a duckbill spreader on it, put a magazine tube extension so that it held 8 and cut the stock off in much the fashion that this one is. The shotgun is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide on the buyer's dime. It's very short when broken down, and light so it should be cheap to ship. PAL is a must!
