Colt M1889 "Navy" Double Action Revolver, .41 Long Colt, SCARCE 3-Inch Barrel $3500
Please text anytime 6476871484. Fully functional double action revolver in perfect ready to shoot condition. No PAL required. Comes with FRT paperwork. Reloadable ammo is available but sold separately. Tested with smokeless powder. Colt M1889 "Navy" Double Action Revolver, .41 Long Colt, SCARCE 3-Inch Barrel This model is a marked departure from previous Colt revolver designs, and would be produced in a few variants from 1889 until 1907, with some 330,000 made. Many were sold to the US military. It has a counter-clockwise rotating cylinder with locking slots on the back. This one is in very fine condition with a scarce 3-inch barrel. It retains original blue. Excellent, sharp markings, matching assembly numbers on all parts I can see. Nice nitre-blue on the hammer and trigger. The action is crisp and strong, and the cylinder indexes and locks properly. The bore is very fine and bright, with sharp rifling. The black plastic grips are very fine and undamaged. SN 25826, very fine overall. History & Background This model is an important milestone in Colt handgun development, as it is the first American revolver with a swing-out cylinder mounted on a crane, a development which would become the standard for modern revolvers to this day. The 1889 cylinder mechanism was already "on the books" as early as 1880, based on designs of Colt engineers William Mason, C.J Ehbets and Horace Lord. It would take almost ten years for Colt executives to give the green light to manufacture this gun, and once it was available, the US government quickly took notice and ordered several thousand for the Navy. Colt adopted the name "New Navy" in honor of this order. The gun has an interesting counter-clockwise cylinder rotation and a locking mechanism which relies entirely on the two-pronged hand. The 1889 model would remain in production for 18 years, with significant improvements in 1892, 94, 95, 96, 1901 and 1903. When it was first introduced in 1889, it met with no competition from the other major makers - Smith & Wesson were still heavily engaged in manufacturing top-break revolvers, and Remington only had their solid frame revolvers with removable cylinders to offer. It would take S&W another ten years before they had a viable alternative to Colt's design.

SWISS SCHMIDT RUBIN, MODEL: 1896/11 INFANTRY RIFLE, CALIBER: 7.5 X 55, COMES WITH MUZZLE COVER, BORE IS VERY GOOD. VISIBLE NUMBERS MATCH. BARLEY CORN FRONT SIGHT WITH RAMP, ADJUSTABLE U NOTCHED REAR SIGHT, SILVER BOLT WITH RED POLYMER BOLT KNOBS. TWO PIECE FULL MILITARY WOOD STOCKS, FINGER GROOVED FOREND, MILITARY MODIFIED PISTOL GRIP, SMOOTH STEEL BUTT PLATE, SLING SWIVELS, STACKING HOOK, BAYONET LUG. METAL FINISH TURNING SILVER GREY WITH LIGHT PITTING, SCRATCHES, HANDLING MARKS AND WEAR. STOCKS SHOW DINGS, MARKS AND WEAR. ACTION: STRAIGHT PULL RIFLE, BARREL LENGTH: 30.75", CLASS: CANADIAN NON RESTRICTED. The Schmidt–Rubin rifles were a series of Swiss Army service rifles in use between 1889 and 1958. They are distinguished by the straight-pull bolt action invented by Rudolf Schmidt and use Eduard Rubin's GP90 7.5×53.5 and GP11 7.5×55 Schmidt–Rubin rifle cartridge. The Schmidt–Rubin 1896/11 rifle, or the Model 96/11, was a Swiss upgrade to the 89/96 rifles they had, to use the more powerful cartridge adopted as the GP11. The GP11 cartridge operated at a higher chamber pressure, which the 89/96 action could easily handle. The model 89/96 rifles were modernized by changing the three-groove rifled barrel to a new 4-groove type, adding a pistol grip to the stock, changing the magazine to the 6-round type used in the 1900 short rifle, and modernizing the sights. This also streamlined the appearance of the rifles. Because more rifles were needed than were available, the model 1911 rifle, with slight changes, was put into production. Almost all of the 127,000-plus model 89/96 rifles were converted to the 96/11 specifications. An improvement over the original 1889 version of the Schmidt–Rubin rifle, the Swiss M1911 placed the locking lugs in the middle of the bolt, rather than at the rear, strengthening the action and allowing a more powerful cartridge, the Gewehrpatrone 11 or GP 11 to be used. It is distinguished from the 96/11 rifle by a curved butt plate and by a stock with an integral semi-pistol grip. It uses a graduated tangent sight which begins at 300 meters. The 1911 and 96/11 rifles were made with excellent craftsmanship, and were exceptionally accurate. As Switzerland remained neutral through both world wars, remaining rifles are typically in far better condition than other European rifles of the time. Vector Optics Paragon Series Prism scopes
The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light. All Paragon models also boast the best eye relief when ranked against competing micro prism sights. -------------------------------------------- Vector Optics Paragon x1 The design of he Paragon x1 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic. It is ideal for someone wanting a close quarters optic but not wanting to be at the mercy of batteries. In the cold Canadian climate there is some wisdom in avoiding something battery dependent in the outdoors. The one power paragon has a circle dot reticle which, according to gestalt psychology, draws the eye quickly to the center. It is a reticle type which is faster to acquire than a dot or a crosshair. The Paragon x1 comes with a low mount and a high mount to be optimized for a large variety of firearm types, from the traditional Mossberg shotgun to the 180C. Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338. Ideal For: Shotguns, PC9, SKS, FX9, Scorpion, Raven 9, Templar, wk180, ws-mcr, tavor -------------------------------------------- Vector Optics Paragon x3 The design of he Paragon x3 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic. The 3 power prism sight is ideal as a battlesight for modern sporting rifles as the 3 power gives a flexibility at close, medium and occasionally longer ranges quite comfortably. 3 power, in my opinion, is the maximum magnification your brain can resolve with 2 eyes open style shooting. 3 power is ideal for people expecting to engage targets at 300 meters or closer. The x3 Paragon is lightweight and small measuring 3" in length weighing only 225g. The reticle has a drop compensator for 223 balistics. Caliber Range (max): 12ga, 338. Ideal For: FX9, Scorpion, Raven 9, Templar, wk180, ws-mcr, tavor, crypto -------------------------------------------- Specter Arms is a dealer for Vector Optics and the x1 Paragon is not the only thing in stock.
