Howdy Townpost! I have a truly amazing one of a kind piece here for sale. I bought this for myself in the US over a year ago and I had it professionally restored and fully repaired. I am now looking to sell it. John Forbes, of Liverpool, was gunmaker to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. And according to my research made mostly dueling and target pistols, and some small pocket pistols for only 5 years. Those years being 1805-1810. He spelt his name with I or Iohn and later switched the spelling to a J or John based on public records and some of the other examples of his dueling pistols that have sold at auction. That makes this a very rare and finely made pistol. This pistol would have cost a small fortune at the time it was made. Oftentimes dueling pistols come in pairs but it was cheaper to buy just one if they were offered as a single, and should you encounter someone who has insulted your honor and you demand satisfaction from them, they can bring their own pistol to the duel. The engraving is extremely fine, intricate and skilled. It would have taken many dozens of hours to complete and it was all done by hand. The engraving features drums, banners and spears, floral patterns, sunbursts on the base plate and lock, and a pineapple in the front of the trigger guard, which symbolizes wealth and status. Because this gun is a percussion conversion of the original flintlock mechanism the percussion hammer is engraved in a different style by a different engraver in a more simple floral and fish mouth style of engraving with gold inlay. Every screw is engraved to look like a flower and the escutcheons are also each engraved like a wreath. Overall there is a lot of fine detail with some simpler and less detailed later additions on the percussion mechanism and one spot on the side plate. The gun features gold inlay on the hammer which largely worn away. There is silver inlay on the outside of the breach, and a sterling silver wreath styled band wrapped around the base of the grip and a sliver bead front sight. The ramrod tip (which is a replacement) is silver plated brass, so too are the front stock cap near the muzzle, the rod pipe, cross key, and escutcheon around it are too. The grip baseplate is silver plated steel. The workmanship of this pistol is certainly of a quality of gunmaker worthy enough of being the gun maker of the Prince of Wales. Butt stock requires repair. Barrels exterior shows patina,  inside is like mirrors in near mint shape. All numbers match everywhere and lots of them. British Pattern 1853 socket bayonet with leather scabbard This is a British M1853 Socket Bayonet for use with the Enfield, Snider, Martini rifles. This 1853 pattern was the standard bayonet carried by nearly every British infantryman of the mid-19th century and widely used during the Crimean War, Indian Mutiny, and in numerous colonial campaigns. Production of the1853 pattern socket bayonet continued throughout the life of the Enfield Muzzleloader and the Snider rifle and was finally terminated in 1875. The blade has a slight downward curve to allow easier reloading while fixed to the muzzle-loading Enfield rifle. Measuring 44 cm (17 inches), it features a triangular cross-section with fullers on all three sides, tapering to a narrow, down-turned point. The blade is in good solid condition but is badly tarnished. The scabbard is in fair condition. The bottom brass below the frog hook is pulled free from the leather scabbard. The brass tip on the scabbard wiggles a bit but is still solidly attached. The stitching on the scabbard in the last 3 ½” above the end cap is partially missing but the scabbard is solid and not separating. The scabbard is stamped W.D. (War Department) below the frog stud with the Broad Arrow symbol above the initials. This stamping is difficult to see. The top of the blade at the base is stamped with an E over a crown over the number 25 Overall Length – with blade in scabbard - 21 3/8” Length of Bayonet – 20 3/4” Length of Grip including the Guard – 3 5/8” Blade Length – 17 1/8” $100.00 Thanks, Phil

Up for grabs reluctantly, is my Rossi Ranch Hand chambered in .44 magnum as I honestly just don’t use it at all. These guns are near unobtainable in Canada currently (Discontinued as well) especially in .44 mag. I have a semi custom Remington Model 700 in 308 made by Jennings Gunsmith before he retired. I recently acquired this on trade but it’s surplus to my needs. It has a bedded and glasses Bell&Carlson stock that is free floating. Trigger has been upgraded polished and crisp. Barrel is a Lother Walther medium contour and 23" measuring 0.72 at the muzzle and blued. The rifle is in near perfect condition and has 405 rounds through it. Rare 1944 ROF Maltby No4 Mk1*. Yes it is stamped "No4 Mk1*" on the side of the action but it has the regular Mk1 bolt release and not the No1* bolt notch. There is no real documentation how or why it happened but common theory is that in the height of the war, you used what you had, and someone mistakenly produced a few Mk1 actions with a Mk1* stamp. Definitely a collectors rifle, this one is a bit dusty from decades of storage. Looks like it was hardly fired, no wear on the action, clean bolt face, original forearm serialized to the action. Matching serial on the bolt, not the magazine. In its original configuration, paint is chipped off in some areas from handling & storage. Possibly part of the lot that was in storage with the French Police post WW2. Wood is all original to the rifle except the rear handguard, which was cracked & split and the butt stock which had damage. I replaced the handguard with a near identical one and the butt stock is NOS late war William Sykes SL N74 marked. It is the exact 44/45 run of butt stocks, known by their coarse spoke shave finish. Local pickup for Edmonton area in ST Albert. Shipping can be arranged at buyers expense. PAL will be verified.

Howdy Townpost, this is a model 1863 Swiss socket bayonet. These were originally designed for the mill Bank amsler breech block conversion rifled muskets and were also the pattern used on the later model. 1869 Vetterli's. These are nearly identical to the model 1871 pattern however, they are a little bit thicker in construction.  Overall, the bayonet is in fair to good condition. There is some minor pitting and of patina of mild surface rust and grime over the surface of the bayonet. A little TLC with some steel wool and oil would have this thing looking like a million bucks. I simply don't have the time to do it myself.  This bayonet should be compatible on any Swiss Vetterli erly with some exceptions. It should fit on model 69, 69/71, 78 and 81. And possibly some of the carbines depending on what it is. However, many of these were hand fitted to an individual gun, so it may be a little bit loose or a little bit tight on your particular rifle and some fitting may be required. The socket bayonet is located in Southwest Calgary for pickup, or I'm more than happy to ship it to you Nationwide on your dime. And if you live in Alberta, I travel around the province of fair bit so I may be able to deliver for free if you're along the way on my travels.

Howdy Townpost. I have a pretty scarce variation of a nice early Swiss blade Bayonet.  These were originally designed for use on the 1896/11 rifles. They will fit on any of the Schmidt Rubin straight pull rifles to the best of my knowledge. So the 1889 up to the K31 should take this bayonet. I don't know about the single shot training rifles or the ZFK55 sniper? I don't think that even has a bayonet lug.  These are the fuller type bayonet with the one reinforcing rib near the base of the blade. It runs through the fuller perpendicularly. These are far less common than the later non-fuller blade bayonets and parade status bayonets are also much scarcer than the regular issued ones. This particular example is in very good shape. The grip scales are in good shape and the majority of the nickel plating is still present on the bayonet. It has about 75% left on the blade, and 100% on the guard, tang and pommel. You could remove all of the nickel on the blade and have just the bare steel if you so desired. Or you could re-nickel the blade because it is still flaking off a bit. The lug button for securing the blade to the rifle works perfectly. It hasn't been filled. This is not a musician's bayonet.  The bayonet is located in Southwest Calgary for pickup, or I'm more than happy to ship it to you nationwide on your dime.
