Low # 24 DCRA Canadian Long Branch No.4 Lee Enfield Target Rifle
7.62x54r Bolt Firearms Rifle
Here is a bolt and receiver matching 1950 long branch precision shooting target rifle. These rifles are very collectable in the shooting community and chambered in 7.62. Only a couple thousand of made and are regarded as incredibly accurate rifles.
Please see picture for details on condition but overall, I would rate this as high condition or very good condition stock as well as bore.
Collectors estimate around 1,500–2,000 authentic CAL/DCRA conversions were done (some sources cite ~1,300–1,982 based on observed numbers and databases compiling photos/serial tracking).
These are scarce today, especially pristine examples. Long Branch receivers (like this 1950 one) are preferred for conversions due to better tolerances/magazine fit, but British receivers (e.g., BSA, Fazakerley) were also used (sometimes requiring extra milling). This rifle’s setup (target sights, display with Canadian volunteer theme) aligns with a classic DCRA target configuration— converted 7.62 example used in DCRA events. If it has a stamped conversion number of 24 which is stamped on receiver, that would confirm an official CAL job and tie directly to this limited ~2,000-run series.
