For years, I personally never used a rangefinder; I relied on my army training to make careful guesses as to range. But 2 years ago, I brought in the 6x21 rangefinders for sale and it changed my life.

I could, with precision, zero my pistol caliber carbines to 76m (required to keep my chosen ammunition within a certain elevation at less than 100m)

I could start using ballistic calculators and the range finder to save ammo; I could get my DOPE cards updated with less testing ammo.

I could quickly set up ranges on private property without using pacing.

Now, I don't go out without it. With its included belt pouch and light weight, it is like it isn't even there...until I need it.
