7X57 Mauser

7x57 (7mm Mauser) built by H. Berg on a Mauser 98 Action from Flensburg (NE Germany). 

Specs:  24" Barrel using Bohler Spezial Austrian Steel (not sure the twist rate). Walnut Stock, 3-position safety, double-set triggers (roughly 5.5 lbs & 2.5 lbs).  Flip-Up express rear sight. 

This is a "Hunting Gun" and shows typical scuffs, scrapes and minor dents throughout.  The receiver has NOT been drilled & tapped.  The test target shown was only at 25 yards, just to prove that the gun shoots well.  On the underside of the barrel is bare metal (32 mm X 6mm) where I believe there was a mounted front swivel on a plate.  There is no swivel on the fore-stock but could easily be installed.  The barrel is clean & bright with good rifling. 

This would be a great quad gun or open sight deer stalking rifle through the woods.
