Two Tarpan geldings for sale$

Jehu is a 11 year old Tarpan gelding (first 3 pictures). He was my first horse, I’ve had him since he was a yearling.
I bought him totally un-broke, but a friendly and curious little guy. Over the following years I put many many miles of ground work on him.
He had about 2 weeks of professional training under saddle, and again a couple months later. After that I continued with his training,
now with riding included. I did more ground work than under saddle, as I hadn’t had much experience riding. I did a lot of work with
obstacle training, desensitizing, equipment, leading and riding around the farm yard etc. With constant handling, he was overall quite calm,
but with longer periods of no handling he was more startled by ‘scary’ objects. I never personally cantered him while riding, but he did in
his professional training with another rider. I’ve focused more on many miles of trotting, and practicing his circles and leg cues.
I have not worked with him in over a year, but am hoping to ‘bring him up to date’ again if I’m able to this fall. He remembers well.
Even last summer after a long break I did a short little warm-up, hopped on bareback and rode around a bit - he did great.
He finally seems to be settling into more of an ‘older horse’ laid-backness. But he can be stubborn and headstrong sometimes (typical Tarpan).
Needs an experienced hand. But he is really sweet, and wants to please.
He can be hard to catch at times when he sees the halter. Again, consistency seems to help.
He is great for the farrier. He is just under 14hh approximately, but I haven’t correctly measured him before.
But don’t let his height fool you - I am almost 5.10, and he can carry me no problem. He’s a very strong boy.
In the times I was working with him, he stood well for saddling/unsaddling.
He hand-lunges great, took his cues very well, and was quite soft.
Leg pressure cue to turn was getting better.
I had done some lying down training with him many years ago, more for fun.
He did pretty good, but I didn’t continue with it lol.
I’m ready to sell him anytime, for anyone willing and wanting to pick up on his training again.
He learns fast, and wants to do things. He’s such a great pony, I want to see him being used again.
I will not sell him to just anyone, he must go to a good home where he will be used and cared for.
It would be really great if he could be sold together with Smokey, our other Tarpan - they are the best of friends.
Asking $4,900 for him. The re-created Tarpans are a rare breed of horse, and have great potential.
There are less than 1,000 in the world. Really sweet and beautiful ponies.
SMOKEY: last 3 pictures.
Smokey is a 10 year old Tarpan gelding. He stands about 14.h.h, more less. He has had some groundwork, saddling,
and a little bit of riding, but has not been trained under saddle for some years. He is easy to catch, and is good for the farrier.
He needs an experienced hand, as he can be stubborn and in your space if you are not confident. He is overall quite calm,
and doesn’t come across as a ‘get up and go’ pony, so with good and consistent training I can see him becoming a great pony for children.
If interested in either of these boys, please text for leave a voice message. Thank you.
