Winchester Model 1892 25-20, Ref #1038 This Winchester is a lever action, sporting rifle, round barrel, full mag. Dated 1916 Stock is excellent, appears original. A few marks, and very small chip at tang, and butt stock was drilled for a sling swivel at one time. Original metal recoil pad fits well. Barrel is 24” long with sights intact. The read elevator sight may have been changed out at one time. Bore is typical dark with some corrosion from black powder, rifle is showing all the way. Bluing is throughout at about 75%. All screws appear to have never been touched. The lever functions well, safety checks out and the trigger pull, and drop are good. Firing pin is evident and protrudes when pushed on. Ejector is intact and tight, and magazine follower functions correctly. Overall, I grade this firearm as good – very good and should be fully functional. I did not test with snap caps or fire.
