Up for sale is a classic Remington 742 Woodsmaster chambered in .308 Winchester, dated to 1964.

The 742 Woodsmaster is a well-known semi-automatic hunting rifle, valued for its fast follow-up shots and dependable performance in the field. A staple of North American hunting camps for decades, these rifles have a strong reputation for putting meat in the freezer.

This particular example is in very nice condition for its age. The wood stock is in excellent shape, showing only light signs of use, and presents very well overall. The bore is excellent, which is always a big plus on these rifles.

There is a light engraving of the initials “D.P.” on the bottom of the receiver, likely done by a previous owner. Aside from that, the metal shows only minor signs of age and handling consistent with a rifle of this era.
