MOSCOW Watchdog – The Moscow Watchdog descends from crosses between the St. Bernard and Caucasian Shepherd. It is a giant breed dog weighing between 45 and 68 kg (115 and 150 lbs) with a life expectancy of 9-12 years. The breed makes an excellent protective family pet and is a very instinctual guard dog and coyote protector. They have a thick winter coat and are a powerful outdoor breed which requires room to exercise. The breed is highly trainable and intelligent and is widely used in Russia as service dogs. The Moscow Watchdog is a rare breed with less than 200 dogs living in North America.
