Antique Smith & Wesson number 3 target model in 38–44 calibre very similar to 38 spl, this revolver will chamber and fire 38spl black powder rounds. This Smith & Wesson functions as designed in single action with excellent timing and lock up this revolver was refinished at some time in its life and still retains approximately 95% of the blue finish showing a little use from holster carrying. The two-piece grips show ware but no chips or cracks , the bore is in very good condition with lots of strong, shiny rifling, the butt of this gun is also cut for a rifle stock. overall very good condition. There were just over 1400 of these target models produced in this calibre and would make an excellent shootable piece of history. As this is an antique you do not require a PAL to purchase it.
