The Enfield L39A1 is a British military target/match rifle developed in the late 1960s by the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF) Enfield. It was essentially the open-sights counterpart to the L42A1 sniper rifle (which used a telescopic sight), both built on converted Lee-Enfield No. 4 actions rechambered and rebarreled for 7.62×51mm NATO (.308 Winchester compatible).
