Up for serious consideration, is a late 1800's Hammered 12 Guage Double Barrelled Shotgun. Manufactured by Claybrough and Johnstone, Price Street, Birmingham England sometime after 1868. The steel is Damascus finish with a 30 inch barrel. Calibre is 12 Guage 2.5 inches. I have never fired the gun. The inside of the barrell(s) are clean , with no pitting. The unit has tiny marks and scratches over its surface on both wood and metal. The one barrel has a tiny indent approximately 16 inches from the breach.It is slightly visible on the inside of the barrel. Each barrel has the numbers "293" stamped on them as well as the underside of the foregrip. The number "144" is stamped on the centre rib of the barrel underneath the foregrip. Both firing pins/hammers need a tiny adjustment. Hopefully the photos tell you the overall condition the gun is in. If you have any questions, please email me via this ad. This 12g is in good shape for being made around 1907. It’s made by Marlin for the National Fire Arms Co and is identical to an 1898 model Marlin for TakeDown steps. Some say it’s a Model 21 Marlin. We have left the investigation to the new owner as well as the safety to shoot this nearly 120 year old shotgun is your responsibility. There is an old wrist repair that was well done and still solid. Make a great display piece, and comes with 1 brass 12g case with primer. Has a great patina on receiver, 50% blue remains on barrel.
