Selling/trading a Winchester Model 1200 12 gauge. Overall it's in good shape. 28" barrel, 2 3/4" chamber, takes screw in chokes. Bluing has faded and shows some light tarnishing along the barrel. This ORIGINAL 1895 Marlin rifle was shipped from the New Haven, Connecticut factory on Apr. 29, 1903. Solidly built for the larger calibers, this one in 38-56 cal. and is in NRA fine condition. The receiver now appears as silver although its original case hardening pattern can still be made out. The rest of the metal has taken on a brownish patina. All numbers and lettering are sharp and legible. The barrel a 26 inch long smokeless steel SPECIAL order half round, half octagon version, with a 1/2 magazine. The bore is good with intact rifling and a bit of shine. The wood is a SPECIAL order walnut with a beautiful grain pattern on both the forearm as well as the butt stock. While no longer factory available the 38-56 caliber is equivalent to the 35 Rem. Reloading components are available from various sources. Marlin only produced only 18,000 Model 1895's, in contrast to Winchester producing 160,000 model 1886's which was the Marlin's counterpart and competition. This alone makes the Marlin a comparatively rare firearm. Factory Letter is included. All components that are numbered have been determined to be Matching! This includes the extra fancy stocks which do not show up in the letter. The purchaser will assume all shipping costs as well as any desired insurance. Please respond via email. Has a set of Grade 2 Walnut furniture with custom checkering and a grip cap added. In excellent shape with no real notable imperfections. Bluing is excellent throughout. Winchester Model 1894 38-55 Ref #1040 This Winchester is a lever action, sporting rifle, octagon barrel, full mag. Dated 1895 Stock is very good – good. Small tang crack 1” long, and a minor chip gone at tang. Forearm has an app. 2” crack and a few very minor cracks. The stock has typical bang marks. Finish appears original or period correct. Original metal recoil pad fits well. Barrel is 26” long with sights intact, rear sight may have been replaced at one time, again period correct. Bore has black powder corrosion but it’s clean now and has rifling top to bottom. Bluing appears original and app. 75-85% throughout. There are bumps and scratches on metal and evidence of minor surface rusting. Screws have been used, but in very good shape. The lever functions well, safety checks out and the trigger pull, and drop are good. Firing pin is evident and protrudes when pushed on. Ejector is intact and tight, and magazine follower functions correctly. Overall, I grade this firearm as very good and should be fully functional. I did not test with snap caps or fire. Only reasonable offers are considered. Low ball offers will not be responded to. Trades in person only. The firearms and accessories I sell may be new or used and are usually acquired through estate liquidations. I visually inspect them and check basic operation only and share what I know or find in the description and photos. They are not live test fired.
