This is a VZ24 Czech 8mm mauser with the “E lion” crest The receiver has formed a patina finish to it but the crest is deep and all details of the lion is clear. It is a non matching full furniture rifle. Top hand Gaurd is cracked the bands hold it together. Light/normal wear/scratches on stock wood and metal has not been refinished. Front sight is missing the VZ sight Gaurd a common part missing and not to hard to source, front sight is correct with the sight gaurd channel so the fix is easy as sourcing the part and sliding it in the channel. History: sourcing is a bit hard as many documents were lost/destroyed or not maintained during and post WWII. Some information I Did find on the E lion crest was some can be as old as 1935 but most with records dated and started to show up in 1936 they started to disappear in 1939 and many receivers with the Czech lion were required to be scrubbed after Germany absorbed Czechoslovakia during WWII.

Sporterized wooden Monte Carlo stock with aluminum butt plate. Fitted with sling mounts. Marked NOT ENGLISH MAKE, logo with crown and BM on left side of receiver. Other markings include .30/06 NITRO PROOF etc. on barrel, BM logo on bolt but no serial number seen. Parts gun as receiver has a crack by the nitro proof marks. Bluing worn in use and handling areas. Two drilled and tapped holes on right side of receiver with corresponding notch removed on stock, presumably from once attached rear peep sight. Handling and storage marks on wood and metal. The windage adjustment of the rear sight was also dispensed with, and the cocking piece was changed from a round knob to a serrated slab. Specs are as follows: 26" fluted barrel, 1:10" RH twist rate, threaded barrel with factory installed muzzle brake, (1) 6 rd detachable box mag, 51" o/a length, about 16 lb dry weight (rifle alone), 18" Picatinny rail system, and Savage AccuTrigger with 1.5-6 lb adjustable pull. Scope is a Barska 6-24x50mm with a sun shade, illuminated reticle and measures at 21" long. It sure does look at home mounted on top of this gun! The case is a 60" drag bag from Voodoo Tactical with backpack straps, carrying handles, many outer and inner pockets, divider for carrying 2 rifles, and almost deserves its own ad. I am selling the entire package for $2300, or I am willing to sell just the bare rifle for $1800. This gun retails for close to 3k, as shown in pics.
