Howdy Townpost! I have a truly amazing one of a kind piece here for sale. I bought this for myself in the US over a year ago and I had it professionally restored and fully repaired. I am now looking to sell it. John Forbes, of Liverpool, was gunmaker to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. And according to my research made mostly dueling and target pistols, and some small pocket pistols for only 5 years. Those years being 1805-1810. He spelt his name with I or Iohn and later switched the spelling to a J or John based on public records and some of the other examples of his dueling pistols that have sold at auction. That makes this a very rare and finely made pistol. This pistol would have cost a small fortune at the time it was made. Oftentimes dueling pistols come in pairs but it was cheaper to buy just one if they were offered as a single, and should you encounter someone who has insulted your honor and you demand satisfaction from them, they can bring their own pistol to the duel. The engraving is extremely fine, intricate and skilled. It would have taken many dozens of hours to complete and it was all done by hand. The engraving features drums, banners and spears, floral patterns, sunbursts on the base plate and lock, and a pineapple in the front of the trigger guard, which symbolizes wealth and status. Because this gun is a percussion conversion of the original flintlock mechanism the percussion hammer is engraved in a different style by a different engraver in a more simple floral and fish mouth style of engraving with gold inlay. Every screw is engraved to look like a flower and the escutcheons are also each engraved like a wreath. Overall there is a lot of fine detail with some simpler and less detailed later additions on the percussion mechanism and one spot on the side plate. The gun features gold inlay on the hammer which largely worn away. There is silver inlay on the outside of the breach, and a sterling silver wreath styled band wrapped around the base of the grip and a sliver bead front sight. The ramrod tip (which is a replacement) is silver plated brass, so too are the front stock cap near the muzzle, the rod pipe, cross key, and escutcheon around it are too. The grip baseplate is silver plated steel. The workmanship of this pistol is certainly of a quality of gunmaker worthy enough of being the gun maker of the Prince of Wales. Upgraded furniture and flash hider ordered in from US. Incredibly light fun and comfortable gun to shoot for all sized shooters. Pistol grip is thoughtfully designed doesn’t really reduce the takedown angle at all but makes it very nice to shoot and manipulate. Barrel shroud can also be easily wrapped in paracord if it’s a back country/survival companion. Weighs almost nothing, great for small game or lots of cheap fun for young or new shooters at the range - or both. Would make a great backpack/survival companion where legal as well.  Comes with everything in the photos including the Bushnell TRS-25 red dot and 645rds of CCI maxi mag .22 WMR 40gr HP.  I’m not splitting up please don’t ask. Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard Savage and Lyman Montreal Sword This company name was used by the Montreal silversmiths Savage and Lyman between 1868-1878. The left side of the blade immediately in front of the guard Is marked Savage & Lyman Montreal Within the engraving on the left side is a Crown.  Believed to be indicative of Queen Victoria. The right side of the blade has a small brass insert which says PROOF.  Wilkinson Sword introduced these Proof Discs in 1844. In the engraving on the right side of the blade is the word ARTILLERY The guard is steel and has fish skin wire bound grips with most of the fish skin having been worn away.   Length of Sword – 40 1/2” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5 1/2” Blade Length – 34 1/2”   Savage & Lyman Montreal (or Savage & Lyman and Company) were manufacturers and suppliers of swords, known for military pattern swords like those for Canadian militia units (e.g., 1st Battalion Chasseurs Canadiens), marking them as producers/sellers, though like many firms, they likely had blades forged elsewhere (perhaps by specialists like J. Martin in Montreal) and then finished, hilted, proofed, and sold by Savage & Lyman in Montreal, a common practice for armsmakers then.  Key Points: Evidence of Manufacturing: Swords clearly marked "SAVAGE & LYMAN MONTREAL" exist in museum collections, showing they were a recognized name in arms. Role: They functioned as an arms dealer and supplier, customizing and selling weapons for Canadian military and militia. Production vs. Supply: While they might not have forged every single blade from raw steel in-house, they were responsible for the final product, including proofing and adding their own markings, as seen on a 1885 Chasseurs Canadiens sword. I have a like new ( Except for one small blem on flute) 6.5 Grendel Ruger American Ranch Gen 2. I don't have the time to shoot like I used to with other gas guns. Ever think about trying a wildcat cartridge? I have 20 Extreme dies available as well as the reamer. Wth is a 20 Extreme? It is a fast, accurate, fun shooting little 20 caliber cartridge based off the 222 Remington case that is easy on the shoulder and barrel, cheap to load for too. It was designed by my late friend and fellow gun enthusiast. No fire forming required, run the case thru the dies, trim, load and shoot. These days when components are so expensive it's nice to be able to go to the range and shoot more than a couple rounds and actually have some fun. One load I have uses only 18.6 grains of powder, that's somewhere around 375 loads to a pound of powder! Great for gopher, coyotes, fox and other small game or just target shooting for fun. These are brand new still sealed from factory
