Antique Belgium copy of a Smith & Wesson number three double action  in 44 Russian calibre.  finish on this revolver is a nice brown patina with no rust or pitting. The two piece hard rubber grips  good condition with no chips or cracks. The revolver will function both in single and double action, but the hammer can be pushed off  single action, the timing and lock up are good. This is an  antique revolver and you do not require a PAL to purchase it.

Howdy Townpost. This is a nice little and fair conditioned pocket tip-up revolver, in .30 Rimfire. In the 19th century, XXX was used denote very strong malt liquor. So I think marlin was trying to market in the name that this is a stout little gun. Similarly done by Hopkins & Allen with the naming of their "XL" series of pocket revolvers. These were made by Marlin from 1873-1887 with a total of roughly 26,000 being made. They are essentially copies of the Smith and Wesson Model 1 1/2's and 2's. The mechanical condition of this firearm is excellent. The hammer and cylinder function reliably and as intended. Timing and lock up are excellent. The barrel is tight on the frame. This revolver was tuned by my gunsmith too. The bore is worn but there's some life left in it. There's frosting at the front of the cylinder and the forcing cone. The nickel is mostly present on the frame and the beautiful original rosewood grips are in excellent shape. The revolver is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Pre-WW1 British Pattern 1821 Canadian Artillery Officer's Sword – no Scabbard Savage and Lyman Montreal Sword This company name was used by the Montreal silversmiths Savage and Lyman between 1868-1878. The left side of the blade immediately in front of the guard Is marked Savage & Lyman Montreal Within the engraving on the left side is a Crown.  Believed to be indicative of Queen Victoria. The right side of the blade has a small brass insert which says PROOF.  Wilkinson Sword introduced these Proof Discs in 1844. In the engraving on the right side of the blade is the word ARTILLERY The guard is steel and has fish skin wire bound grips with most of the fish skin having been worn away.   Length of Sword – 40 1/2” Length of Grip including the Guard – 5 1/2” Blade Length – 34 1/2”   Savage & Lyman Montreal (or Savage & Lyman and Company) were manufacturers and suppliers of swords, known for military pattern swords like those for Canadian militia units (e.g., 1st Battalion Chasseurs Canadiens), marking them as producers/sellers, though like many firms, they likely had blades forged elsewhere (perhaps by specialists like J. Martin in Montreal) and then finished, hilted, proofed, and sold by Savage & Lyman in Montreal, a common practice for armsmakers then.  Key Points: Evidence of Manufacturing: Swords clearly marked "SAVAGE & LYMAN MONTREAL" exist in museum collections, showing they were a recognized name in arms. Role: They functioned as an arms dealer and supplier, customizing and selling weapons for Canadian military and militia. Production vs. Supply: While they might not have forged every single blade from raw steel in-house, they were responsible for the final product, including proofing and adding their own markings, as seen on a 1885 Chasseurs Canadiens sword. Selling/trading a Ruger Red Label Ducks Unlimited Daniel Smith 12 gauge over under. Overall it's in very nice shape. Made in 1990 for Ducks Unlimited, 28" vent rib barrels, 3" barrels, take screw in chokes, ejectors. Bluing is in nice shape throughout with only light imperfections to note here and there. Stainless receiver is in nice shape, has factory engraving done by Daniel Smith with gold inlays. Wood stocks are in very nice shape throughout with no real notable blemishes. Bores are very nice. Lockup is tight, doesn't appear to have seen a whole lot of use over its life. Has a Decelerator butt pad on it which isn't perfectly fitted, 14.5" length of pull. I have a very good condition vintage Winchester 1885 in .45 70 that I'm prepared to sell. It started out as a .38-55 and was sleeved to .22 l.r.. I had the 28 inch, half octagon, half round heavy barrel bored and rechambered by Ron K. Smith in Alberta to .45 70 and an aperture sight installed. As you would expect with an RKS barrel, it is accurate. It has correct walnut stocks, refinished, with the heavy crescent butt plate. The action wall has been reduced on the right side to more easily eject spent .22 l.r. shells; Mr. Smith assured me this does not reduce the strength of the action. The lever/trigger guard has been modified to make levering faster. I've got $2800 invested in this rifle which I'd like to recover. I'll split actual shipping costs with the buyer.
