This is a .22 competition target Vickers rifle made in the 1930s, some time between 1934 and 1939. It is a 44 1/2" long, quite heavy beast with the Vickers signature 'relieved' barrel-to-fore stock mounting, apparently to enhance the accuracy. It utilises the narrow, falling block, Martini-type action. The bore is bright and shiney, with crisp rifling. It has competion-type fore and rear sights. Overall it is in good to excellent shape. The only thing of note is that at some point a previous owner drilled a line of holes underneath the forestock, which have been filled. The images give an idea of the overall condition of the rifle. Look at this beautiful 1943 numbers matching to the breach and bolt handle. The stock is in high condition with very few marks at all. Also comes with a Canadian marked 1943 canvas battle sling. Markings are faint, but there. Metal retains good finish. Four is shiny and clean, but I would say good to fair condition. A small LB is also present on the front band. This would make an excellent addition to any collection. Everything operates as it should. Also comes with 1943 dated Canadian marked action cover.
