Here is a bolt and receiver matching 1950  long branch precision shooting target rifle. These rifles are very collectable in the shooting community and  chambered in 7.62. Only a couple thousand of  made and are regarded as incredibly accurate rifles.   Please see picture for details on condition but overall, I would rate this as high condition or very good condition stock as well as bore.  Collectors estimate around 1,500–2,000 authentic CAL/DCRA conversions were done (some sources cite ~1,300–1,982 based on observed numbers and databases compiling photos/serial tracking). These are scarce today, especially pristine examples. Long Branch receivers (like this 1950 one) are preferred for conversions due to better tolerances/magazine fit, but British receivers (e.g., BSA, Fazakerley) were also used (sometimes requiring extra milling). This rifle’s setup (target sights, display with Canadian volunteer theme) aligns with a classic DCRA target configuration— converted 7.62 example used in DCRA events. The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light. Bottom Cooey Model 82 was a single shot bolt-action .22 caliber target rifle intended for use in training Canadian Army and RCAF cadets during WWII. This Military Cooey Model 82 trainer from WW2 was used for drilling purposes, target shooting, Home Guard and Cadet training.There is a Stock Number and C broad arrow on the bottom of the pistol grip and a crest on the top of the receiver.
