Bike is in very good condition. Engine is very strong. Original pipes, no rust or rot. Runs very good. Tires are in good shape. Chain and sprockets in good condition. Cons; Typical Honda fuel tank rust where sticker was. Decals are slightly faded. Tach needle broke, but still turns (just short) Has a Crack on left side panel. I still ride this bike on a regular basis. Will always catch people's attention.

Howdy Townpost. This is a nice little and fair conditioned pocket tip-up revolver, in .30 Rimfire. In the 19th century, XXX was used denote very strong malt liquor. So I think marlin was trying to market in the name that this is a stout little gun. Similarly done by Hopkins & Allen with the naming of their "XL" series of pocket revolvers. These were made by Marlin from 1873-1887 with a total of roughly 26,000 being made. They are essentially copies of the Smith and Wesson Model 1 1/2's and 2's. The mechanical condition of this firearm is excellent. The hammer and cylinder function reliably and as intended. Timing and lock up are excellent. The barrel is tight on the frame. This revolver was tuned by my gunsmith too. The bore is worn but there's some life left in it. There's frosting at the front of the cylinder and the forcing cone. The nickel is mostly present on the frame and the beautiful original rosewood grips are in excellent shape. The revolver is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Howdy Townpost. This is a fine English pocket or coat pistol made by Hollis and Sheath company which is the precursor to Hollis and Sons or Isaac Hollis and Sons. Wallace and sheath became Hollis and Sons in 1861 when Isaac Brentnall Sheath left the company to immigrate to Canterbury, Australia and raised sheep and owned coal mines in an area that is now a suburb of Melbourne. His gun making days were behind him, he'd become an industrialist down undah. Sheath & Hollis co-founded the company in 1849 and Sheath stayed with the company until as previously stated, 1861. That dates this firearm between 1849 and 1861. This is a single shot side hammer lock percussion pistol. It's a screw-barrel meaning you unthread the barrel, fill the powder chamber and place a ball on top it. You then use the barrel itself and the threads to seat the ball inside of the breach. Then a percussion cap on the nipple, put it at half cock put it in your dapper overcoat and pull it out should you meet any Scallywags on your travels. The gun is mechanically excellent. The bore condition is very good, there is some minor shallow pitting but overall the rifling is very sharp and clean and shiny. The overall exterior condition of the metal and wood is in excellent shape the diamond checkering are sharp and defined. The powder chamber has only minor pitting as pictured and was cleaned out internally. For a defensive coat pistol, the sights are excellent and easy to pick up and with a rifled bore in good condition I expect this pistol could be fired very accurately. To shoot this gun I would use 3F powder. Both number 10 and 11 caps fit the nipple reasonably well. A 40 caliber lead ball would be ideal as a projectile but you could definitely use .375 caliber balls with a patch no problem in my opinion. I haven't tried it myself though. The pistol is located in Calgary AB for local delivery or pickup. Or I can ship it nationwide too.

The arrival of the main body of Indians in the early summer was one of the important events of the year at the posts along the shores of Hudson Bay. Andrew Graham, who was at York Factory for several years, has left us an eye-witness account of the elaborate ceremony that preceded the trading at York when the Indian canoe fleet arrived from the West. After they had landed at the fort and had been duly received by the governor (as the local officer in charge was known), the chief and his lieutenant were dressed up in European clothes and then escorted to the chief's lodge with much pageantry. "In front are the halberts and ensigns," writes Graham, "next to the drummer beating a march; then several of the Factory Servants bearing the bread, and prunes, pipes, brandy, tobacco, and the beaver coats of the chief, which he had on when admitted into the Factory. Then comes the Captain [chief] walking quite erect and stately, smoaking his pipe and conversing with the Governor and his officers; then follow the Lieutenant and perhaps a friend or two who was permitted to come in with the Chief." In the picture, the chief, attired in scarlet, with one red stocking and one blue, is seen walking with the governor in all his finery.
