The word Paragon means, “a model of excellence”. And this is true of this optic series. I see the Paragon as being the technological descendant of the old Bellorussian PK-AS sight, a one power prism sight that through innovative use of lenses, seems to have a nearly non existent edge when you look through it. Thick opaque edges serve only to limit situational awareness. Competing brands and their prism sights are a miss due to large knobs… they are “good enough”. But the nearly invisible edge of the PK-AS and later on the Paragon discarded the idea that “good enough” was actually “good enough” in regards to situational awareness. Unlike the PK-AS, the Paragon is designed to be small and light. All Paragon models also boast the best eye relief when ranked against competing micro prism sights. -------------------------------------------- Vector Optics Paragon x1 The design of he Paragon x1 is as low profile as possible. No opaque protrusions to reduce situational awareness. Controls, windage and elevation adjustments are close to the body of the optic. This adapter has a SMOOTH Bore (rifled) This adapter gives your 12 Gauge single or double shot break open shotgun the ability to fire a 22lr bullet. This adapter is precision machined from high quality stainless steel to the OD specifications of a 2 3/4 12GA shell. It will easily fit into your break open shotgun barrel and accept any 22LR or 22 Short ammunition. After firing simply remove the adapter and tip upside down to remove the spent 22 shell, or use your finger nail to grab and remove the shell while the adapter stays in your gun. The wide groove cut in the face will not only allow you to easily remove a spent shell but also provides a recessed clearance area for your firing pin. Adapters that don't have this recessed area (or recessed area in the wrong spot) do not provide the proper clearance for your firing pin and may damage your shotgun. A SMOOTH bore is reamed through the adapter for the bullet. Adapter orientation is not important and the adapter will work in any position. Will fit any break open gun with 2 3/4" or 3" chambers.
