This is a 1940 Ishapore made No 1 MK111 ( not a MK111*) with mag cutoff and period correct RFI stamped bayonet. The hardware and wood set is good to excellent condition ( for an 84 year old rifle) and as far as I can tell, completely original from the factory. Bolt, receiver, Barrel, rear sight and nose cap are all matching numbers. The magazine isn't matching numbers but is RFI stamped. The bayonet is the short 12 inch "Indian Pattern" which I believe is a 1943 made bayonet. There are some visible repairs to the butt stock, maybe field repairs or post military use - I don't know. I can't make out the markings on the underside of the butt stock but it doesn't appear to be English or Latin script, possibly Punjabi, Bengali or Burmese. The barrel is probably nearing the end of it's life but I have taken this rifle to the range numerous times and it shoots fine with pretty good accuracy at 100 yards. I didn't really want to sell this one as it's a great historical piece, but I need to reduce the amount of Rifles and spare parts I have. These survival knives were made by the Pacific Coast militia Rangers during World War II to protect against the West Coast invasion of Japan. The Ross Bayonet was selected and then created to what you see here in these pictures today. If you are into collecting these niche items this will be sure to impress. The leather scabbard has small notches carved into it as well as C board Arrow, Mkll, 1914. You’d have to use your imagination for what was being counted. Canadian Ross Mk 1 Bayonet for the 1905 Ross MkII (* etc) rifle. US marked with flaming grenade, no scabbard. It is Canadian Unit marked 20 BH D(?) which is the 20th Border Horse, a militia Cavalry Regiment from Pipestone Manitoba / SE Saskatchewan. I believe it is D Squadron (Weyburn) but it could be B Sqn (Carnduff). Full uncut blade, not sharpened, great patina. $250 plus shipping.

WW2 / Post war British No7 Mk1/L Bayonet & Scabbard. Made by BSA which had a smaller production run of only 25,000. The bayonet is is in excellent to VG condition but the blade has been sharpened and buffed. As such it is missing the bluing line at the base of the fuller and the sharpening  has removed some of the fuller there as well. The broad arrow mark is also obscured slightly. Bluing finish is worn at the cross guard from handling and wear but is excellent at the hilt / socket with only slight edge wear. Socket is stamped M47B, which is the BSA marking and there is a very faint "MADE IN UK" stamped on the other side. The scabbard is the original No5 Mk2 scabbard with brass throat and is in excellent condition with slight wear to the finish and no dents. Postage & packaging to Canada is $25 Tracked. Local pickup in St Albert. Not looking for trades at this time

All restoration rifles are fully disassembled, new wood fitted and oiled, action and barrel are checked for wear and defects most firing pin springs are replaced along with ejector and springs. bolts are re blued barrel interiors are polished. action and barrel are then fine glass beaded, and finished with a hard coat flat black paint, which can be made into a low gloss finish by applying a coat of oil and polishing with a soft cloth, barrel bands and fittings are hot oil treated , and then all parts are assembled and tested including head spacing! final checks are then performed and barrel interior lightly coated with oil.
